As we have seen recently in the news, a 23 year old Nigerian boy -Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, an islamic terrorist from a well to do Nigerian family tried to detonate a device in a plane. I find it sad that a young boy like this with his whole life ahead of him wanted to kill himself and other innocent people in the name of this Arab cult called islam. I was astounded when I found out that he was Nigerian - a country which is not very far from ours. It worries me greatly that this dangerous Arab cult is consuming our young people, and how long before we have Alkaida and the like setting up camps in our land or surrounding countries. Instead of African leaders and African muslim elders and their muslim supporters trying to do something about this, they bow to the Arabs like the slaves they are. Africa has problems of its own. The last thing I would have expected from any decent African is to be engaged in islamic terrorism. I expect Africans to be trying to develop their continent and not fighting the war of Arabs on European or American soil . The stupidity and slave mentality is beyond me. Before fighting the war of others why not fight your own war first. Then again, perhaps the African muslims have a different agenda and going by the postings of many muslims on this site, it is islam first and Africa/Gambian second. As islam is practiced by more people in Senegambia [albeit most of them result back to traditional ancestoral practice to achieve their selfish wishes when it suits them],couple with the muslim criminal mafia of Senegal who call themselves brotherhoods, it is perhaps time for muslims to be barred from standing at general elections until they get their priorities in order, or they can stand but should not be elected to the post of presidency. All muslim propaganda programs which dominate our radio and television services should be banned. If they are not to be banned, then all Senegambian/African religions including Animists and Christians should be represented - rather than the predominant islamic propaganda one tends to get. The islamic brotherhoods at Senegal [our neighbour] should be closed down and the criminal families and their supporters that runs them should look for jobs like everybody else rather than scrounging off people. They have been running for a hundred years and have achieved nothing but wars; lies; propaganda; death; pillaging and treachery. It is time these criminal organisations are closed down just the same as the law enforcement bodies would close down the factories of drug dealers. Perhaps with these small gestures [which should be extended to other parts of the continent infested with this Arab cult],the majority of the Senegambian muslims and that of Africa can retain back some honour and put their land and people first before a foreign Arab cult god.

These people have done nothing for their country other instilling imported religious dogma and destroying African society. They are hypocrites, greedy and wicked people whose desire is to destroy the old African moral ways and replace them with the Arab module. These people are not proud Africans, they are the true princes of evil commanded by the Arabs to do their bidding. They can burn for all I care.

Exactly but the islamic terrorist don't care because there is a bigger goal and since they are sacrificing their own lives sacrificing the lives of small muslims doesn't matter because they are muslims and will go to paradise anyway. The rest who are not muslims will go to hell. As you book says. Just because a religion has more than 1 billion followers does not mean it is not a cult. |

When the world is compelled to coin a new term to take account of increasingly widespread bigotry (Tamsier, Anna and Kayjatta in this case), that is a sad and troubling development. Such is the case with Islamophobia.

Mansasulu, though i only stepped in to point out a somewhat funny typo in Tamsier's title, i now take the opportunity to point out to you that the only deluded and sick person here is the 'Nigerian dude' who fortunately was prevented to act out his evil deed by Dutch national Jasper Schuringa.
Turk, the diagnosis is not 'Islamophobia' but fanatismphobia combined with extremismphobia. I am sure i will suffer from these last two phobias throughout 2010 as well (just thought to let you know in advance!). |

mansasulu, in the U.K a famous comedian in response to overhype threats, made a valid observation. He said, when you are walking down the street, a strange person tries to threaten you. You should stand and scream at him, "I am 6 times more likely to harm myself before you." meaning people in U.k are six times more likely to commit suiside before being killed by anyone.
In America, it may 50 times.
So the arguments against islam is as usual predictable. |

Turk, no one is writing about Islam , they are writing about terrorists who profess to be Muslim, such beings should not be referred to as Muslims,because they do not follow the teachings of the Holy Book ,not so?

You spoke for me as well. I think some of these un-necessary headlines, anti-islam so to speak are just out of realities (touch) for a pure and progressive religion.
