Drumbeats of the sense
Are danced to by the brain
Standing in the dark he claims
No one sees him at all
None does perhaps, but he ;
Sees himself for sure

The weary bits of your pants
Suffer you to sit on them
Brother take care not stand up in them
As the rear bits might not stand public scrutiny
The threads having worn out
Exposing you to ridicule

Dark silent nights give cover
Yet closely behind follows daylight
Do your best to do good at both times
Knowing not who watched and saw your deeds
But jungle drums
Sound Warnings
Those who heed them
Get by laughing
Others with blocked ears
Get stuck along the way
Blaming others for their woes

The drumbeats of the mind
Are for the brain to dance to
Sweet at times
Horrid at other times
Whatever the sound
The brain does the dance
In the silence of the head

Kaan,
I like that VERY evocative, and yet another for the book,I do hope you are keeping your writings together and not on bits of paper that can get misplaced, because you know that once you have written the moment is gone, never to return ,and with a lost piece of paper well.......everything is then lost.

Thanks Toubab , I am compiling them in printed form and that way keep them filed, your advice is one worthy of remembering as one can easily lose such writing if care is not taken.

Please, not advice, I wouldn't presume to give advice to anyone, just that sometimes when one is enthustic about things the practicalities get overlooked, any timescale for completion is is it going to be a lifetimes work?

Thanks Dalton and I am sure those stories would not be taken in only by Suntou's young readers you will find many "kotos" doing just that so bring it on! brother.

Bro Kaani..,

If you were a fluent Jola speaker, I was going to narrate to you some nice stories....'monughei pulbaa (hyena), hawatee tee sonkoo (hare),fahmamanjang, etc...,' and i can tell you out-right, Suntou will not find any of those words in any dictionary, or from anyone that is hitching on the original script.

but from your own words, you lost some of it too....but will adjust these stories to fit Suntou's kids. I believe they are ages between 5-15 yrs. I used to be so good at traditional story-telling, while warming around fires...you know how those nice moments were. "...

thanks & Later,

Tell me why I should coin this particular poem for you my friend and you will make a very happy man . Surely I address you in clear language when I deem it necessary to do so as you can see from recent postings. I am sorry brother that you feel I was referring to you which incidentally is not the case , how this appears so to you beats me totally and thanks for using foul languages against me because of that. You see , I have already told you before that I accept any attack being physical or whatever on this forum especially if that was for what I do say or write here. You are more than welcome to abuse me ,and I shall add more for you , meaning add what you forgot to use as abuse against me.That is the way you want to conduct yourself and it is your right so go ahead. What I want to add is that like you I shall say what I want and take the flak for doing so, therefore mister bring it on.I do not care and it does not stop me from my ways.Cheers and more fire from you .
Perhaps I just might write a poem referring to you and then see how you blow your top.I hope you will read it and enjoy it too. May be I should do just that.

LOL you really don't wanna fck with my poems either partner,I am smarter than you and more educated,Mind you also better at everything too. May be your poem had no direction and absolutely sucked. I did not even insult you yet and ,you're screaming foul play. If i heaped insults at you ,trust me you won't have the time to whine like a Cry baby.I'll be Awaiting my poem ,hope you come out tight ...............................Peace

I give up the Moe seeing you are more educated than me ,smarter and can coin poems that suck or do I say shock , whatever brother !, just go on and abuse me, am all yours. In fact I shall treasure those insults keeping them in my safe to show to my children and they too to their children. So make my day and me famous .I will not write a poem on or about you as I fear you shall be the better one at that . I surrender to you forever.

Thanks Mowdo Yero for thinking of contributing your wonderful stories towards our kids orrientations. A man with good heart never disapppoint. Yero, the might of your imagination will help us, just bash the stories from Fula/jola to plain simple English, remember, me ma accountant not too deep in Angale.
Kaani, someone read your poem and told me to thank you on her behalf. she was touched by it, so kudos koto.

Thanks for the input an extend my greetings to that person. I too wait to read and enjoy the writings of Yero, to lighten my heart which I dare say is very heavy, right now. The reasons are many but all based on my ardent desire for better life for my country men. I shall always say this even if that hurts others and they decide to be abusive.I stand up for my right to be heard.
