They weigh heavy on the eyes Justice for some has no such scales You just take what comes to you Like it or lump it A choice one has make
Do not try touching them Sat in their perches Becoming just so; Untouchables that they are With mighty defenders Who pounce on the meek
Scales of justice seen on display Are mythical for most of us Meat is not food for all It is poison for others I will have you know, brother Things are not as they seem See the sun shine here so hot Over there it is always green and cool As we make do with scorched earth and barren fields No rain no feed But there they carry pot bellies
Scales of justice weigh wrong They are tipped against others The voiceless who cannot protest Must endure in silence As talking can be seen as greed or envy Not even the droppings can be tasted here That is for the ants of the terrain They too are fatter than those near to us
Tagged as unpatriotic we become outcasts Walking the fringes Waiting to die Or for a messiah to come Free us from this calumny Though you can hear the taunts That we live in dreamland Never to wake up from our slumber We are waiting and that is what we can do for now The end will come some how Meeting some in graves six feet deep But other will surely be alive To witness the redemption Until then the scales of justice Remain as they are Tipped unfairly against us
