The atrocities committed by Jammeh and his government towards innocent peace loving Gambians are sickening and barbarous. Gambians are being subjugated to conditions that are unfit for 21 century human being. My question is who in their right mind will marry such a PIG HEADED HEDIOUS MONSTER like YAYA? How can her consciousness allow her to sleep behind a man whose hands are soaked with the blood of innocent school children? How can she say I love you to a man who is behind a calculated cold blooded murder of innocent peace loving Gambians? Who exactly is this cold hearted first lady of the Gambia and isn't she aware of the atrocities committed by her husband? Is there anyone who knew Zanib before she was married to Yaya, what was she like and was she cold hearted like she is today. I want someone to provide me with the real picture of this lady.

For one, this is a marriage of convenience. According to some, Yaya prefers light skin girls. That explains the inferiority complex he's suffering from.

For two, Zainad is not a Gambian and can easily dissociate herself, to preserve her firstlady status, from the plights of ordinary Gambians. I wouldnt buy that she is a woman and a mother therefore sympathetic.

From the rumour mill, Zainab used to come to the Gambia before being married to yaya. That is a long story and many have fallen victim in the process. Bamba you are right, yaya prefers light colored women.

Tuti was one of them and there was another in Bakau who was also of mullato type. It is also said that the problem between him and Pakaya Fofana in Mansaknko was that they met at a place looking for a wife and yaya lost the contest. That was before he became president.

The girl is from a Hydara family and also light skinned. You see not many peole were opposition sympathisers to get the brunch of the stick of yaya. Sometimes there are far flung issues that have nothing to do with work.

Zainab is certainly not interested in the welfare of gambian people and is totally and culturally not a tuned to our needs. Then again, she is trying to maintain her priviledged position at any cost. If you hate your people, do not expect to be loved by outsiders. If yaya thinks Gambian women are not good enough for him, who the hell is Zainab to respect us. Yaya was never in Morocco to have met Zainab. This therefore confirms the fact that she was seen in the gambia through some other business otherwise he must be telepathic to feel and know her. A big BUHABA in deed.

No wonder the skin bleaching saga could not take off beacuse he himself like light colored skin.

it is intersting what you say about the first lady, she would not want to jeopardise her position, she has no roots in gambia so could walk away from her husband, his country and his problems. I ask this question what would you expect her to do in this present climate. Forget the skin colour, forget her roots, if she was european, or mauritanian would you expect different behaviour. no she acts like this because she is foreign.
A Gambia women might be different but i look at the gambian women who are in positions of power, the vp, head of tourism, former head of GRTS neneh mcdonald. That is who I would look to for action they are powerful positions. have any of them spoke out. NO

Fellows,
Do not allow your hatred of jammeh to cloud your judgement. I must say that i am a little bit dissapointed reading these postings. Too often, when one is dealing with evil(as clearely jammeh is) one is tempted by anger to do or say things that on close examination one ought not say them. First of all, we should not allow ourselves to be racist against light skinned women. For thare are many lightskinned women who are gambian citizens also much more, light skinned people are human too. So all i am saying is that everyone has their own preference. Some like skinny women others want fat women some prefer short women whiles others want tall women. some want dark women others prefer light skinned women. on the face of it, nothing is wrong with that. Something becomes wrong only when it conotes either superiority or inferiority. therein lies the problem. None of us knows the intimite details of other peoples marrages and we should not be in the business of speculating about them. None of you can know for sure what Zainab's true feelings are.

The person ruining yout country is not Zinab it is Yaya. In the event that yaya is removed from power and is brought to justice, if zainab is found to be culpable in any form of crime she too would be brought to justice but until then your problem is with jammeh

I have no hatred for anyone and that includes Junkung. But we should be able to exercise our rights to scrutinise the First Family. If you occupy the highest office in the land, then you cannot claim a private life. Ther is a wollof saying: KU DEH SI MARCEH, YAA TAGEH SA BOPA".

Kassma

I just saw your posting. i will not make any comment for now. It is too hot to handle but i will ponder over it during the weekend. You seem too blunt and raw sometimes and i dont think you will make a good diplomat.(laugh)

We all know that YAYA and his comrades are to be blamed for the terrible life conditions that Gambians are currently encountering. I am not trying to blame Zanib for the ill situation of the Gambia but maybe perhaps she realizes that marrying YAYA will make her an instant millionaire. I don’t think she can fool the clever people of the Gambia. What she fails to realize is that we will go after the last single penny they manage to steal from poor starving Gambians.

The urgly face of Gambian politics re-surfacing on this forum, personality politics .... what has Zanib who makes no decision on Gambia and bears no responsibility what so ever on the decision that Jammeh or Cabinet makes and yet some on the forum are remotely linking the innocent lady to our country's down fall.
I do not see anything wrong on a girl of her style and structural caliber wanting to marry to a president after love has no boundary. Jammehs likes for a particular taste of girls is irrelevant, for all of us have a particular taste, isnt it?
Lets face the facts, Jammeh and Cabinet is our problem, not Zanib, bringing Zainab into the equations is a sign of desperation, which simply means we are loosing the plot. One of the winning fomular to any battle, is keep ones eye on the ball, our ball here is Jammeh, any distraction is going to be costly. Frankly I think we had lots of distraction on the forum that puts the quality of our debate in doubt.
Lets concentrate on substances not the flare and crap that comes with it, exuse my french. Keep the peace.

I would definitely make the same comment if Zanib is a Gambian. The Gambian government is basically ruled by a dictator which means that neither the cabinet nor the people have a direct saying on the affairs of the nation. Jammeh made it clear and simple that he has no advisers maybe a marriage that is built on mutual respect might be the key in changing or softening YAYA's heart. What I am saying is that perhaps Zanib could be the only person that Jammeh might listen to and her input might change the way Jammeh views the role of a president.

Facinating, if i get you right, you seem to be saying Zanib has a moral responsibility as a human being to the human family, that is all neat and tidy but moral responsibility is remote from legal responsibility, to be exact unrelated.
Do you know if Zanib is advising Jammeh to do otherwise to the human family and he is paying a deaf year to it. Frankly i could not care less about what Zanib says or did not say to Jammeh, I would care more if ordinary do not let him ride on their backs.
Lets all remember Jammeh is riding on our backs because they are bent, Jammeh cannot ride on straight backs, so the earlier we straighten up our backs the better for the Gambia.

It is often thought that the wives of politcians have a great influence over their husbands. Sometimes the men are considered puppets with the wives pulling the strings.

Recently think of Bill Clinton and Hilary. Her ambition let her be blind to many things.

Also Tony Blair is often criticised for things his wife does, even though she has an independent career. AT the moment the papers are full of the cost of her haircuts!!!

Perhaps people think the wife should be able to moderate the husbands behaviour. But that depends on the type of man you are dealing with. I dont think a tyrant will listen to anyone....not even his wife!

Zainab at this time cannot be held responsible for Jammeh's crimes against Gambians. And certainly Jammeh's choice of women is his personal business; but i have long wondered why Jammeh would be so furious about skin bleaching by Gambian women to the point of banning it yet he repeatedly prefered light-skin women for his spouse?
Could there be a contradiction here ?

Kayjatta, I do share your doubts about Jammeh's ban on skin bleaching in view of his preference. And please let's stop using the warning "mind your own business". We humans are not made to do so, especially when one picks up a gun to proclaim to be the right leader of his people. People look up to their leaders, and I mean all aspects of them. Leadership calls for sacrifices, private lives of leaders are usually the targets.

The " dont mind your business" is a lucrative business in a capitalistic world. The gossip medias generate millions of dollar, pounds, yearly for not minding their business. Ask those in the limelight, they'll tell u what it means to be there.

bantaba, you are assuming that he and his wife are speaking, I agree with some of the other members he wuld not listen to her, he is to far down the line now.
I ask this question once again, where are the female ministers in all this, the vp, sos trade and tourims, the speaker of the house, minister of telecommunications. I think he would listen to them before his wife.
