".......You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and stars. You have a right to be here....... Speak your truth quietly and clearly and listen to others for even the dull and ignorant, they too have their story....." DESIDERATA (Unknown author 1698)
Bev You have a right to share this UNIVERSAL PLATFORM. Do never feel intimidated. In this world of diversity each soul can only fit a person. At end of day we all act who we are. As fine feathers make fine birds, so also fine minds make fine persons. |

Big Moe and all others posting, please lets be decent in our exchanges. We can only educate each other when we keep the debates civil. We only reduce ourselves esteem anytime we resort to name calling. So I am calling for decency and profesionalism.
Moe, I am strongly convince that we need to engage each other in good faith. You deserve the right to say anything you want regarding Jammeh and his elections. Saddam Hussein used to be elected by 99% of the electorates in Iraq. Yet he remained the worst dictator which ultimately led to his humiliating demise. What goes round comes round.
Yes, Jammeh may have been elected, but under what circumstances? The answer is debatable. What is not debatable is not many of our brothers and sisters (students) were murdered in cold blood. Deyda Hydara was murdered in cold blood. Koro ceesay was burned to asses. Who is responsible for all those crimes? Who is responsible for investigating and bringing the culprits to justice?
The government of the Gambia is atleast responsible for protecting the lives of citizens. Therefore, if the regime fail to investigate such cases they stand to be acused of negligence and that is my charge against the government.
Again, I will ask you questions since you negated to answer them in my earlier postings. If one of the students were your brother or sister, what would have been your response? If one of the people that have been killed or maimed were one of yours, what would you be saying today? To clear the air non of the students are my direct blood relatives, but they are Gambians like me and as a matter of fact they are my blood. This is why I am challenging the government to do the right thing regardless of whether they were elected or not.
This is our call and we will continue to call on this government until a day when they will be accountable just like Saddam and his sons. Charles Taylor and other inhumane dictators.... |
