Itīs a good thing that the tiawanese donate the money and that they want to build the academy, but why in Kanilai? Why canīt they build it somewhere closer to the big cities.

why build academy, support for what is there would help, the university could support this project, definately jobs at the end of the studying would help.
better study conditions/ the university does not have a central campus/ it needs books for the library/ accommodation for students. was it not on the education page that some students were going hungary and the campus was not providing accommodation for a college.

Read what the hypocrites and dead pretenders had to say. All the key reps of Gambia's education sector sat before demon Jammeh to declare the dead cells in their brains once again. Read on.

Jambo,

In all seriousness, some of these people are looked up to as highly seasoned professionals. For them to sit around allowing to be used tells how much they have thrown their thinking caps into the bin. It is quite surprising that not one out of the lot would point out the fact that the facilities are better placed for Gambia College or University of Gambia. They know the truth and yet they keep mute to please Jammeh, who equally knows what he does is wrong. This venture will cost Gambia so much for nothing. Development of Science and Mathematics is not a matter of POLITICAL image building. Jammeh is tampering with critically sensitive matters and has gone too far already.

karamba, let me make this comment based on observation you can build as many colleges as you like but if you do not get the academic support forget it, it will become a white elephant. also who are the teachers, gambians teachers are so underpaid it is a joke, this money could have been better spent. i welcome education plans in gambia but it does seems a "bit of the "emporers new clothes". i am glad they are getting education but what at what level.
i also think job creation is a reality for well qualified staff, is that on the agenda.
once again is taiwan

Taiwan wants independence from China and relies on poor countries like Gambia for votes at the UN General Assembly. However what Gambia does not seem to know is that China is a member of the Security council and as such the general Assembly is more or less a talking shop.

May be Yoro Bawol should break away from Gambia. We have a lot of cattle to give our neighbors for votes at the UN.
