Janyanfara, I do agree that Freedom of Speech is important accompanied by responsibility. I also feel that the Gambian State media could put its service to better use to edutain people. Who wants to watch unedited video tape every utterance the President makes day in day out! Of course this is boring. GRTS needs to be put to more constructive use.
Likewise more titles should be made available to people to read and publishing books and magazines should also be encouraged. The Media Commission Bill needs to be repelled. I have never agreed with this bill and I'm on record for saying it since 2001 when it was enacted, The sooner it is repelled or amended the better. After all what is the point of educating the populace if they are not allowed to express their points of view. I think Jammeh needs to heed this and relax these draconian measures.
I agree with Jammeh that the court process needs to be speeded up and that all the different sectors of court proceedings from arrest to sentencing be more transparent with greater accountability. Also its important that the amount of people who have been detained without charge is drastically cut. And an independent Police Commission is set up so that those who have been umlawfully detained can have their casesinvestigated to cut down on police misconduct etc.

Sister Omega,
Just to assure you in all my postings I have never in a word advocated for any OPPOSITION party in replacing Jammeh's brutal regime. I can understand what is bogging you. You have shut up your mind's eyes to see and consume the bitter truth I exhibit in my postings. None of your wilds assumptions have the potential to shift me by one inch. The rest of what you exploded will have to be taken on by other concerned Gambians. The insult there is too huge to be taken personal. I have never in my postings tilted to personal inducements as wanting political position neither for my humble self nor for someone else. So take pride in your wild assumptions if that serves to rejoice you. What has my profile to do with my postings? Being 18 or 80 is of no material relevance to the solid truth being relayed. Grow up!! My concern for Gambia is beyond narrow sentiments of me or someone seeking to replace a brutal dictator who equates political robbery to illegal riches. The rest of other issues you raised are better placed in the capable hands of more competent compatriots and I am confident they will take it up. Enjoy yourself for now. |

You're pouting a lot of hot air. Cool down! Karamba, Why didn't you just leave the age space blank if you didn't want to reveal your age? Didn't you know that Profiles can be viewed when we login. I'm a mature adult who speaks as I find accept it or reject it. That's your progoative. So you don't have your green or red eye on power that's not the image you project or are you disgruntled after falling out of a powerful position in the APRC government.Because it seems as I've hit a nerve Karamba. Don't worry enough of Jammeh rejects come onto the Bantabaa spewing hot air because they got the sack! Are you one of them! Don't cry now where is your sense of humour Lighten up!

Sister Omega,
I am not the issue and you can never be able to lead me on that narrow path. A brutal insincere person is torturing, stealing and killing Gambians. That is the concern of every good Gambian, not a personal problem to me. Again, don't shut your mind's eye. Swallow the truth for your own good. The issues raised concern Gambia and not narrow individualistic images or positions. You have no chance of escape; give up. From your use of rotten words, you openly expose the shallow depth of thinking that misguides you and your likes. Grow up. Bring in serious issues and keep away from low mental speculative dreams. This is day light. |

Alhassan,
Jammeh is the most deluded person to be called president of Gambia. He refuses to learn from experience and to be seriously responsible and accountable. He is typically irresponsible with resources and the position of president. His most misled view is to bank on the job of president as milking pot for draining national resources. The way Jammeh behaves is not to be tolerated and every decent Gambian must stand to hate it. Not for the hate of Jammeh, but the dirty and wild game. This we have to do so that comes any other leader, we expect civilised and sensible conduct towards people, positions, and national resources. Jammeh's legacy is one of excessive abuse of everything. There is reason for Gambians to hate that conduct. |

karamba , i always enjoy your though provoking inputs on the bantaba .god bless. as i said earlier the sister is only here to irritate decent citizens of the gambia that is why i said people should stop engaging her. if she is 1000 years who cares. some one who cannot even admit her citizenship of the gambia should not be taken seriously. so karamba let her huff and puff ,we will not be distracted. if she is on jammeh's payroll and she rejoice at the vile threatment of our fellow nationals ..sister laugh for now .you always keep on writing about maturity but i don't think having 50 children makes any body mature. if you care about the gambia then don't make fun of other peoples pains.whether you are even a woman i douth , since it is said that women have more compassion than men but you sister o' laughing and joking about yayas threatment of gambians .what kind of lady are you ? you have chids ,yet other women's chids are been incacirated by yaya for stupid and flemsy reason yet you laugh. what kind of a mother are you ? trying to make us believe that you are peaceful . sister yaya's day will come ,then we shall see what is at the end of the tunnel. shame. |

Santafara stop talking rubbish I am not a Gambian citizen I am a British citizen by birth. Don't be so narrow minded to think it's only citizens who have a right to discuss about their countries. Laughing and joking about the pain of the Gambian people what a load of BS really Santafara those immature statements are really too much verbal diahorrea coming from a so called mature man! After all when does three or four men represent the views of an entire populace. What inflated ego's you have to think you can speak for an entire populace and actually believe that they all agree with your point of view after all that's what debating is discussing divergent points of views! You are right that having children is not necessarily a mark of maturity however raising them nuturing and educating them is. You cry about Jammeh being a dictator however your words express your intolerance of opposing opinions, as far as I am aware this website is called Bantaba in Cyberspace and not Santafara in Cyberspace. Unless you can control the cyber activity of ICT users what gives you the right to dictate what they can and cannot read?
