| Sister Omega is one of the Wailing Wailers OF Jammeh's musical drama of Gambia. Here is a president who is so inundated with POSITION that he craves for a DEMI-GOD influence over everything and everybody. What Sister Omega is writing reads like what the July 22, Green Boys, and every Jammeh fanatic embrace as show of Patriotism. To keep on surfacing the argument that Jammeh has another few- year mandate is one dull song never to fall on good ears. So far, 13 years is gone. What remains is nothing to go easy for Jammeh. If it takes just one stubborn real person that is still enough to take on Jammeh. In a sad twist of things for Jammeh, his haters are growing daily among them those who dine with him. Sister, lay your arms to rest. The 13 years nightmare is no longer going fine. Day break is certain and Gambians know what it takes to be sanctioned by a tyrant. Sorry you may not be happy to realise how serious Gambians are taking up issues with Jammeh. Watch Jammeh closely and see if you think he is happy !! |

ALHASSAN,
I must first agree with you that there is alot of infrastructure developments going on in the Gambia. The road from Banjul to Brikama are wonderful, but what is wrong with roads to the provinces. What project is more economically viable than constructing the road to basse so that a farmer in janjanbureh can easily take his produce to market.
It is time for jammeh to go, he is causing more damage than good. One can see his pictures everywhere. When he came to power in 1994 alot of gambians were advocating for a change, but not a one of this nature. The most productive(educated)ones are leaving the country and this is what he wants so that he can make the rest believe that he can cure AIDS.We dont dislike him because he is a jola, but because of his policies and the ways he is running the country.
One cannot boast of infrastructure developments when the citizens cannot take care of their daily needs. Prices of commodities are sky rocketing and we can blame him for it. When they first told him that you can raise revenue by printing money SISTER OMEGA forget to tell him what the consequences were or he just dont care.
Corruption is everywhere from the police on the streets to the top and that is the worst form of corruption. One cannot go to Banjul nowadays at night without having to open the trunk of your car for his military at the denton bridge. He wants to turn banjul into a ghost town or mabe he already did. Eventually he will ask all banjulians to leave for his own security. |

Hi fellows, Its a very very long time since I was last heard on Bantaba.Well I can't tell all that had happened. But my heart is bleeding when I see postings of the likes of Sister Omega janyanfara ect These people seems to have no brains at all.Anyone who defends Jammeh's system of administration is a brainless brat.My friend I was arrested simply for putting a udp flag at my compound gate. The police said that was a public place. How many of the dictators pictures are at public place.Imagine I was kept two months 8days.You people sit in europe enjoying praising Jammeh and his bunch of prostitutes. What crime has Rambo,Kanyiba,Lamin, M.l.Nyassi ect committed? My friend defending Jammeh is just like defending Iblis[Satan] before God.This stupid God forsaken self proclaimed prophet is so proud of his wealth that he has forgotten when his mother used to sell smoked fish on the beach that he now boast of his immence wealth.Where on earth have you seen a so called Alhagie praying and in the middle of a prayer, cuts short a pray rushing into your palace?yet our socalled preachers as as dumb as a graveyard.Jammeh would soon claim to be God himself. He gets his money from God's bank,he cures aids through the quran,he receives devine messages just like prophets,One day he would be just like the Egyptian Ramses II who claimed to be God himself thus leading to the distruction of him and his people by Moses and his God in the red sea. The world is silent on Jammeh's madness but we shall soon see it in the open. There are blood thirsty Cassamance rebels within Jammeh's death squard I saw some of them while in detention and God knows why these non Gambians command so much fear and power while their contemporals calls them grand. People disappear and these death squard would use our own brothers sisters to broadcast lies about the disappearance of their own kit and kin.Madness isn't is? People can't trust each other any longer.Madam go to mile two,Janjanbury, yero Baol,Serengai, fatoto ect and see things for your self. After this, if you still defend what you man is doing, then there is more to it than defending if you do have brains. As for Janyanfara,My appologies,I didn't read your last report. But your previous were indeed sickness. peace sita |

Sister Omega,
Are you still there to challenge these daring Gambians over what they all had on your master? I still think Jammeh going into private business is wrong. The fellow did not have enough food or shelter. Now we provide him much more than what the average person needs. Yet he he wants to be a rich business man !! Your concept of people hating Jammeh because of his tribal factor is quite wrong. Why do we still retain and respect our good Jola friends ? Jammeh is the one who wants to agitate that feeling of hate in the minds of Jolas. It has never happened before Jammeh became this arrogant that other tribes (I hate to use the word) molest the Jolas. There has been a cordial exchange of sweet jokes between Serrer and Fula, Jola, Manjago, Mandinka, Wollof, name it. Within the tribal groups there is an extension of that joke. Wollf from Saloum and Niamina are often teased as Saloum, Saloum, and Fanafana. Believe this or not, a Fanafana is happy to call himself one in good momemnts of jokes. So where in hell is this tribal feeling coming from? Just because Jammeh is inferior does not subject other decent Jolas to share that sentiment. What we are dealing with is no tribal issue. Social consciousness in Gambia transcends that narrow sentiment of tribal antagonism. For now, that has to be scrapped while we concentrate on the more pressing issue of getting Jammeh out and having him to pay for all that he committed. Other people in Gambia are not hunting Jola heads. Though that is the picture Jammeh is painting, it does not have room in decent Gambian socialisation. The bigger issue is what we need dealing with, and that is the error of Jammeh posing to stay as president of Gambia with the unhealthy Jola tribal sentiment and all the economic and military crimes. |

ylowe, It is not just because of the roads. Schools, Passports, can be obtained easily nowadays than before. You came late to this specific topic. I have deabted on this topic. Thanks anyway for your views, I shall bear them in mind. Moreover it is for security's sake that the soldiers are at the Denton bridge. We who live and have properties on the Island have another opinion. Banjul shall never be a gohost town. It is the capital of your country. |

AL HASSAN,
I will be more happy with getting a business license easily than getting a passport. Tell me how many people are you going to bribe to get a business license? I guess is alot of individuals. This discourages businesses and keeps us poor.
Most of our teachers are underpaid and you are talking about schools.Building schools without creating incentives for the teaching profession only gives us quantity education and not quality.Remember incentives matters. |

Karamba your argument is a lame one. How can a person once in the position of President be poor? Show us which world leader who is poor? When Jammeh took over power he turned the Gambian class system on its head which has been a severe blow for many to swallow having fallen from prominent positions resulting in a decline in income and influence.Obviously many Gambians have broad enough minds to recognise that Gambia is not perfect either under Jammeh or Jawara. Even Jawara recognises the fact that Jammeh is in power by popular mandate. So karamba you have the next four years to convince Gambians of an alternative style of government. By the way are you yourself seeking to be the youngest president being though you state in your profile that you're only 18!!! Some how I don't think you are! So maybe you should start to be honest with yourself and others on this issue.
It is indeed dangerous for one to believe their own propaganda after all Jammeh has just been re-elected. The opposition is in a quandry and you really are trying to convince Gambians to elect the opposition. I think egotistical postering caused this mess in the first place. It is squarely down to the opposition why Gambia is a one party state by default. Because Darboe was too full of pride by not taking his seat in the National assembly leading the opposition to fall into a dark hole of sinking sand, stepping on each others heads to crawl out of it, just to slide down into it further.
The Fourth Estate and civil service became the substitute for the National Assembly for the opposition to try to subotage Jammeh, and alias this too failed. Hence journalist becoming the front line. This tactic has backfired with the government introducing a clamp down on the media.Tthe opposition then decided to involve international pressure groups again ommitting the murky positioning of their influence on these media outlets as their main line of defence. Consequently the role of journalism became compromised and the backlash against journalists lead to the untimely death of Deyda Hydara. This juxturposition of the opposition throwing away their power which is supposed to effectively keep the ruling party in check through the NAM's by forming a robust opposition was thrown away when Darboe negaited his responsibility by disrespecting his electorate in 2001. Thus creating the political landscape of Gambia today. No amount of shouting "Get Jammeh out!!!" will change the reality on the ground at this moment in time. The opposition had five years to plan for the 2006 elections and wasted a lot of that time. Do you really think that the Youth of Gambia are going to vote for a disorganised opposition no they would prefer to go and watch a football match. People in the West may take the moral high ground about the developments that have occurred over the past 13 years. But ask Gambian's living in the country especially those the youth and those in 20's and 30's if they want to revert back into the Jawara era or want to place their destiny into some unknown entity over the internet. Who thinks that he can force Jammeh out of State House what do you think would be their answer?
Peace
