i am very much disappointed with my elder alhasan .cars without number plate ..nia's use tinted windows ,just to let you know. no other person is allowed to drive a car with tinted windows except them .so people know who they are. bev you are right many are scared to death to even mention the name of the beast .

Bev how many Gambian's were held at gun point and forced to register to vote, or got dragged out of their house and forced to vote for Jammeh? If one really wants to make a change then they would use the ballot no matter what intimidation they faced. Millions of Africans have paid for the right for Africans to vote today with their own blood. So don't tell me that Gambian's are too afaird to vote. The reason why they didn't vote for the opposition because the opposition didn't have the right strategy in place to win the electorate over. If I believed everything written here on the bantabaa I wouldn't of visited Gambia on business. I also no that there are indeed a lot of Gambian's who are pro Jammeh no matter what the minority of people think, trying to make us all believe that they are in the majority. After all you can fool the people sometimes but you can't fool all the people all the time. (Abraham Lincoln.)

When i say everywhere I mean it. Someone told me that in every place of employment and every place where public congregate there is a spy in the payment of the government.

There is no freedom in the western sense. The papers arenot free and people are not free from fear to vote as they wish.

Sister Omega I dont understand why you dont acknowledge this, you are intelligent and sensible. When did you last visit Gambia?

bev , don't even mind her .she is the one healbent on supporting a tyrant .so no amount of pan-africanist speech will absolve you here . yaya may have done some good things for the gambia but what we don't want is the continous harrassment and dictatorship. he presided over numerous murders and you never show any evil crimes that he perpetrated. so leave bev alone ,she is a friend of the gambia and a good person for that matter. white ,black it doesn't matter good intention is what counts. we as gambians have some very good white friends .

Starting with Brother Alhassan, glad that you approach this issue with an OBJECTIVE state of mind. It is not a blanket accusation that Jammeh is made culpable for the killings and many wrongs in Gambia of today. He is there providing the ENVIRONMENT (in the strict technical context) that permits everything like that to happen. Did you read what Bev referred to as the FEAR FACTOR. Because Jammeh is so dubious and so callous, the weapon he uses is fear of the most agressive form. What do we need a police state of Gambia for? Whose security other than Jammeh? The failure to take serious steps in bringing all the culprits of these crimes to justice spells clearly that Jammeh is happy that people get killed. That is the typical character of brutal leaders. People getting killed and nothing coming out of it breeds fear. Why will Jammeh promote the killers of innocent students soon after a report proved their involvement?

About Gambians not held at gun point during voting period!! Sister Omega, how much do you know about the voting process of Gambia? Again, you need reminding that Jammeh destroyed the entire ELECTORAL SYSTEM making it possible for him alone to win. Every minute of sound and image over Gambia's monopolistic state Radio and Televison sends no other information apart from the false greatness of Jammeh. Private radio stations either play music or carry out commercials to sustain their operations. For 365 days of the year, every day is day of political campaign to sell Jammeh. Tell me if two weeks of UNFAIR broadcast will do any good for those you call opposition? Let us have this bogus election episode lay to rest. It is day light and Gambians know clear difference between dust and sea breeze. Hold it Sister Omega. "Na poor we poor, we no craze wo."

But who gave Jammeh such a powerful mandate in the first place? Need I remind you it was Darboe who decided to forfeit his right and opt out of the National Assembly in 2001 and venture into the political wilderness. And where did that lead him and his followers too. No one can make one feel inferior unless you give them the right to. After all people get the government they deserve and in Gambia's case that is Jammeh, So no matter what angle you come to me from right now you have not presented any concrete evidence to subsantiate your case neither have you been able to convince the international community of any case Jammeh has to answer. If you trip over a stone tomorrow and buck your toe we all know who you will blame JAMMEH! I rest my case.

Jammeh will require the whole Atlantic to clean his past and present. Decent Gambians do not deserve a breed of Jammeh's making. He robbed us off our cherished democracy to transplant his awkward brand of what he calls it. We blame him because we knew one day a decent blend of genuine politicians would advance the course of Gambia's democratic gains. Suddenly came Jammeh from who knows where and jumped the process. In all these years, he fails bitterly in making a positive impact. He certaily makes his dark marks on the decent grounds of a peaceful and democratic Gambia. Whatever happened till Jammeh could not last with US lobbyist John Aycoth is anyone's fine guess. It is clear that Jammeh suffers a broken image and Aycoth could not put the pieces together again. Another case of Humpty Dumpty that sat on the walls of motherland Gambia. Until we sweep the broken pieces of Jammeh into the wild sea facing his illegally-occupied State House in Banjul, we will not stop. Good that you rest your case due to lack of credible defence. Better this case is thrown out for want of a better option.

Santafara,
Before I got a number plate for my jeep, I drove for 3 weeks without a number plate,I even have tinted windows too. I have no connections with the NIA or any other Government personel. Even in Dakar you can see cars without numberplates sometimes.
As we have different experiences so I cannot prove you wrong. You might be right because you know the guys more than me.
