Njuks

I notice on the site you quoted, one of the interior officials is saluting with the left hand. I thought one salutes with the right hand

From the little french, i can understand he was in service since 1958. (Kerrfalla Camara i believe is the commander in chief of the forces of Guinea. He must be an old man.

everyone in Guinea is old, they should all retire including Lasana Conte.

he is saluting with the right hand, its just a trick with how the picture is posted on the website. its a 'mirrored' image. otherwise he should be sacked , that the first thing you learn in the army i guess

Folks,

Let no one reduce themsel;ves to nothing. I have always viewed Bajinka as a star. I am surprised that such contributors like Kons. whom we always seen as intellectuals can reduce themselves so low, and seems to be pertinent to call others "kankan". As a matter of fact, the way the story is written with Bajinka's own brother qouted is enough for evidence.Kons. said the story is not confirmed yet. You can wait for yours, those of us over already had our confirmation. Sedeou Lamin is khalifa's younger brother, so what more is needed. The mere fact of such malicious tictacs of contributions is kankan in itself.

I am done with it.

Sure, there are lots of rumors inuendoes and out right inaccuracies in some of the articles posted on that page but this one might not have originated from there. Whether the statements made on the article are true or not, we will find out soon enough.

On the contrary kajaw, [Rah] has absolutely no issues with PaNderry. I suspect that it's *\@?....... who has issues with Mr. Mbye. I read regularly FNPonline when possible and a proud subscriber. Could be that Mr. Mbye was warning Major Bajinka in an article or whatever, and *\@?....... disagrees, why this exchange from another message board. yeh.rah

I just wanted to wait for the local papers to report it. There have been many rumors, which were unfounded. I do not doubt your source but i was responding to a member who asked that the name of bajinka be added to the list of those fired. I told him that we need a formal confirmation.

We heard stories of Mr. mbye Mp for saloum said to have died of a snake bite after he won against hamat, which was found to be false. Infact he was at state house attending a victory celebration. A similar issue about arrest of samba Bah NIA director also turned out to be false.

Infact after your posting, members read another posting saying that the story was false and actually was a response sent to Pa Nderry. I am not privy to any information. The best way was to wait an see. I hope you are not suggesting members should just consume whatever they are being told. Infact i even propose f anyone knows a contact number to call or better still wait for today’s papers to report it. Radio Kankan was mere an analogy to rumor mill and no personal issues please. I was spicing the posting with a little bit of cultural humor.

Yesterday I was personally attacked by a member who said my posting was “grossly unfounded” even though we later agreed that I was right. So I don’t think you are requesting for an immunity from scrutiny. I hope not.

I am not questioning the credibility of your source, but just want to be cautious not to fall for everything especially a highly sensitive matter like that of Bajinka.

Wait a minute Dalton1. Where is the malice in my posting. I think i have a right like anyone to critically assess any information that is passed on to me. I have passed that stage in life where i would take things on a face value.

Well the topic was being refuted by other memebers. You have chosen to not attack those who refuted your posting but can jump on me who is only saying we should be cautios and wait for the clouds to clear. That was the best forward if there is no agreement as the authenticity of the story. It was a breaking news and as such, it should be treated with caution. I rest my case

Merely having a plaintiff with a complain is no guarantee that he/she is right and that the defendant is guilty. Due process is needed. Both sides must be heard.

Infact, you have said that if this story is not correct then we can call you a liar and you yourself will inturn call Bajinka's brother a liar. Some important issues come up here.
1. You are not the source of the information
2. You rely on someone else for the news
3.You could not guarantee the information and therefore will scold Bajinka's brother for telling you a lie if it turns to be wrong. This therefroe tells me even you, could not guarantee the information because you a chain in the process and not the process itself. You might want to read again your posting below.

Dalton1 Posted - 28 Jul 2006 : 00:11:25 Not this one Madiba. Sidi-Lamin Bajinka, some one i knew for a long time. He is a blood brother to Khalifah. I spoke with him on the phone today and i qouted directly on the piece. People must heed to demands and not to critisise unnecessarily. I investigated the news story, and if there is any lie-with my name on it, call me a liar after today-and i will call Sidi-lamin a liar in turn. Take care guys !

Folks,

Here it is more than twenty-four hours after i posted a story here. I just get done reading the point and Observer, i didn't see any of that in there. It is for reasons like that, any will lift a pen and write something that happened, infact, the very reasons why people all over are trying to establish online voices-be it this forum or any other forum or newspaper. This is not a competition. It is a great appreciation for those that undertook the journey, and millions benefitting from it. And many more will venture in it in the near future, not just because the ones we have are not enough, but because sometimes we see things different. For whatever reason any forum or newspaper will stay operational, it must not be blackmailing the very people it is meant to serve.

If you can't get a source, listen-agree or disagree without disrespecting the individual. Don't confuse any with another person, by relating what someone else wrote. It is both culture and religion that our elders own a senior status, but should any eldery guy then wear such a status and preserve dignity.

I only represent myself in this forum or any other newspaper. That's why i choose to be independent-If i were to write anything after verification, i will always put my name on there. I avoid being reduced to a mere vehicle passenger by being used by others. Any must never be a vehicle for others, and that's where failure begins.

But like Shaka once said to be "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen." It is understandable that this is a forum, where we agree and disagree. There are others that cannot enter in forums, that won't be me. I cannot be pushed to that. It seems that people seem to have problems with others' writings, and so it becomes truly unfair when someone else is likened to such, which they don't have a hand in. And i can see the facts as people argue/debate especially this story about Bajinka. But that these keyboards are with all of us, whichever language and tone you use here, the records stays.

Any writing individual must be dependable and reliable. For when you report on any thing, it won't take even five days before it becomes a true story or false one. I choose to verify any story that i will be writing on.I don't carry stale news, and my access to information a little over it most of the times. It is ok for any to disagree, but just don't disrespect me. I am not in here or any place to exchange insults. The best description is to learn, and from day one, i've humble myself to call myself a student to contributors. I didn't make any mistakes in saying that. There are many with the experience, skills and knowledge that others need to learn.

I know those being called kankan, but for a fact it becomes wrong when others are attached to that.

When contributors started addressing others "Hei", then shows start of disrespect. I am not immuned, will never be there. We can agree or disagree all night, just cannot accept to be a mere insult or joke for any one. I can equally reciprocate things.

By the way when contributors here, as far as know, reply to any posting, whether they address Madiba or Kondorong, it's for the whole forum. When i replied to Madiba, can't you see it was for all. Also, i would rather go with what Madiba said, cos he backed his by calling a friend. Myself and Madiba had disagreed in the past here, but his way of critique is respected-before calling names , dwell on the topic. Like i said, i know those being called kankan, sometimes i don't seem to buy it, and i have seen others treating them unfairly in many instances. But they can equally call any of you those names that people are calling them. They are not stranded of words and places to post it. i am not writing to defend them, and i am sure they are reading us well and loaded with the same missiles.

Those that create or invent news or stories can go ahead and do that. Those that write on facts can also do that. Those that haunt on innocent ones can also do that. I will not accept to be put on the defensive.

As far as the Sainey Mbye case goes, i spoke with FJC, Sainey's own brother, other political big figures , and sainey himselftcc.. It turned out that the story was all over, even announced on radio and TV, ended being one sainey Mbye in Bakau. That shows respect and cautiness in reporting. By all respect, it conformed to journalistic ethic. And i followed it with a master piece. And i am sure 'kankan' do exist as you said. But that 'kankan' does speak, and labelling someone kankan means that you already found out that what he said is not true. If it turns out true then kankan becomes the one that tried frame others of it. That we all can agree on. How much winds we've seen blowing, and how much of it brings fresh air, and the rest all bogus.

Now, to end without making it look like a bar between us in this forum, i will ask you-were you able to verify it ? If so how much is true ?

"Infact, you have said that if this story is not correct then we can call you a liar and you yourself will inturn call Bajinka's brother a liar. Some important issues come up here.
1. You are not the source of the information

By the way, i didn't buy your arguement above. It is only after you are on the defensive that you are trying twist it this way. By what i said to Madis means i spoke with Khalifah's brother, so it couldn't come from a better source. When said called me lair it turns how not true, means it is definite. Either way you are interpreting my own piece, i know better what i said.

By the way, no heart feeling. Take the handsake and the struggle continues.

Stay with gainako for your reliable, dependable and fresh news-Have a good day.

Yero, of Gainako

I will always take the handshake. I am so used to being criticized in life that criticism does not bother me any more. As a young man in primary school, i was the head of the debating society. It’s in my blood to discuss issues. I will therefore take your handshake as i have always shaken the hands of my opponents during debates.

I still stand my position that the news is still muddy and I intend to take slow lane in this matter. Then again, that should be my prerogative. It still has not changed the fact that you are not the source of the news. You relied on someone and were not privy to the whole saga. Then again I am not saying your story is wrong but I only hope you will respect my decision to sail on the slow boats to China.

I AM NOT TRYING TO INTERPRETE YOUR POSTING BUT I WANT TO REMIND YOU THAT THERE IS WHAT IS CALLED common sense. But i do also know that common sense is not common after all.

I am not getting out of the kitchen because the heat you are supposedly putting up cannot drive an ant away to safety. I have taken heat much hotter. I am already molded by many years of heating in a furnace. Even the mushroom cloud cannot remold me let alone make me leave the kitchen. I don’t cut corners nor do are run. Like my Head teacher used to say: QUITTERS NEVER WIN NOR DO WINNERS QUIT. He who fights and runs away leads to fight another day (Bob Marley). “Cowards die many time before their death, the villain never taste it but once” William Shakespeare.

By the way, the word radio kankan was first coined by Kejaw not me. I wonder why you jumped on me and not kejaw who almost dismissed the posting. Yet, may be found me as easy prey. But think again. There is a mandinka saying: NI YEH SISEWO JEH JIBI LAAL NOMA, TOORR LAL LE FILTAMA". May be i was the JIBI LAL.

Thanks for your compliment that people see me as an intellectual on this forum. I never saw myself as such. I believe I take solace from big giants on the forum who have remained a source of inspiration for me with you included. I am humbled by your comments.

Welcome to the table of brotherhood Dalton1. I guarantee you that you will never find me wanting. I have always had an opinion and will always express it and have always expressed it.

Have a wonderful weekend. MBALEN JAM.

Its a typo. sorry. But come on Madiba that should not raise a flag. Are you trying to score a point.

It looks like Njuks has also made you load your gun. But be careful not to empty them at once.

Its Friday, a Holy Day.
