Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said yesterday that midfield player Michael Essien was not fit to play in the Africa Cup of Nations. He has a bad injury to the ankle ligaments. He will not be fit until the end of the month. Mourinho is quoted I think Ghana are intelligent enough to understand that if the player is injured it is best to leave him at home.'
