just read the article, love the logo, i am sure they will make it a great world cup. but the president could change, is south africa due to elections soon.

yes , Mbeki will leave in 2009. so there will be a new president to continue his good work. election are due in 2009.

well thats your stereotype of African leaders, and i can't defend them. but come 2009, he will step down and continue his work as an elder statesman. Mbeki is beyond that. he understands both the mind game and the historical one.

these are his words

President Mbeki recently made reference to the changing of constitutions to allow those to stay in office as “Power is like sea water, the more we drink of it, the thirstier we become” but stated that he would not be attempting to stay in office.......
