Hmmmmmmmmm..........this has the smell of the EURO AND BRITISH POUND about it and subsequent political changes that occoured leading to the EU mess that UK now finds itself in, jobs for the boys in a new political elite concentrating on personal power and rewards, having little to do with the advancement of the citizens of member countries,ALL of which have their own culture and ways of doing things, the EEC (http://www.answers.com/topic/european-economic-community ) was fine as a trading base between members, once the politicians saw the opportunity for power and developed the EU that is when problems appeared. IN MY OPINION: THE AVERAGE GAMBIAN SHOULD THINK A GREAT DEAL BEFORE GIVING THEIR SUPPORT TO THIS EMBRYO of an IDEA.
Snippet: "According to him, from the study of countries’ preparedness, there are challenges hindering the performance of their economies from meeting the convergence criteria for single currency."
