How serious are these people? More importantly is this possible? Are some people blind enough to support this idea?

Karamba I think Esmeralda was on GRTS that day. Gambians rather watch soap opera's than let their voices be heard regardless of which direction it's heard. This has always been the trend , this is nothing new bro and has nothing absolutely to do with a scheme to install a Mansaship. The opposition got scared knowing damn well what awaits them in the near future, Clumsy leaders best fits their description. Look the average Gambian accepts the current situation wholeheartedly, just like the Jawara days we are once again contented with the status quo and there is nothing any Tom, Dick or Harry can do about it is written in clear arabic and English for all to read.................................................................Peace

King Moe,

You have just hit the nail. To agree with you further, the whole political circus in Gambia is one by which some players simply end up with self inflicted goals. To an extent, Yaya already discovered how much instrumental the opposition parties stand for him. That is quite interesting though.

When other drummers of Jammeh beat hard enough, it ends up with the opposition dancing to a tune they would not request.

well the number of electorates who can`t be bothered far exceeds the number that voted, so in reality the result does not simply reflect people`s choice and this is bad for both Aprc and the Opposition camp.
Moe if Gambians are so proud and appreciative of jammeh and Aprc as you want us to believe, why are they staying away from the polls, I am with the opinion that they are bored to death with jammeh and the Aprc and have not got an alternative to Jammeh simply because the opposition camp is Not in order. This is the reason why they rather go to their farms than to weaste time queuing at the polling station.

Hey guys I think this should not be taken lightly

Gambians should reflect a bit back to the days when Jammeh first came to power by force of arms assisted by assasins Sana, Edward, sadibu and Yankuba
(1) He accused Jawara of staying too long in power thus encouraging as he called it rempant corruption ect ect But what are we witnessing Today?
(2) within months they started killing each other accusing each other of counter coups.
(3) Some so called elders were said to visit Jammeh and ask him to strip and stand for election which He gladly did after calling politics dirty and he has no interest in it.
(4) After wining he used the parliament to strip Gambians of electing their own chiefs and Alkalolus and appoints himself of selecting them.
(5)Commossioners turned to Governors and Ministers turned Secretaries of state
(6) Then things began to unraffled about the true intention of our so called soldiers with a difference.Jammeh himself is coated as saying he will rule for what ever time he pleases.
(7) Then the titles began adding themselves to Yaya AJJ.From Leut. to captain to Lt. Colonel to Dr. to professor to sheick.
We should all now think what next?
Forget Parliament those are not representing any but HIM.
He can easily pass any legislation through parliament for the Gambia to turn it to a monarchy.Even not the chiefs any referrandum would vote in his favour because he owns our so called Independant Electoral Commission.

So Gambians should not take the above story lightlyGOD safe the Gambia! Amen

I totally agree with you Janyanfara, it seems Gambians are always caught asleep when major changes happen. If the recent reports are true then this is serious. These corrupt Chief are not thinking about anything but what they will gain. I wonder what some Gambians are willing to do to get close to Jammeh.

Moe Nakam? Do you support this idea. Should Jammeh be annointed KIng? Please give me a yes or no answer. I graduated from FT Benning School for Boys.

Related Bantaba Gambian politics topic Jammeh on Yahoo under http://www.gambia.dk/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=9979

Interesting quotes from above;

1. "Jammeh is already king," Saine said. "He practically owns the country of Gambia. He controls the press, the opposition, the clergy, and the coffers of the state."

2. "The presidency is already like a monarchy," Sarr said. "As far as power is concerned, he has absolute power."

3."If he were crowned king, he could dispense with the formality of elections altogether."
