I was thinking if a 'positive discrimination' can be used to involve women in politics more. For example, every non-profit organization, board, union, political party, parliament, cabinet, city council, professional association, law council, trade union, crown corporation boards must have at least i.e. 33 % women. Any thoughts?

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices. |

TURK,Even though I am a bloke, I think that that is a good idea,BUT to place women in positions just to make up the numbers is NOT a good idea,if the women that are appointed as you envision have EQUAL power to the men, thats a different matter, seriously though can you imagine Muslim MEN agreeing to let women have equal power ? Err.........NO. |
