Fatima Jabbie, the director of Fabecs Promotions highlighted President Jammeh's achievements from 1994 to date during the recent Africa Business Forum held at the London Novotel Hotel in the United Kingdom.

She used the occasion to expatiate on the various achievements registered by President Jammeh?s government such as education, agriculture, health, women's empowerment, tourism, investment and regional integration among others.Fatima described the Gambian leader as a shining example among African leaders, stressing that he should be greatly emulated to unite, develop and integrate Africa. She also urged African leaders to emulate President Jammeh in his good leadership qualities in their struggle to attain good governance in Africa.

"I am from The Gambia and I can tell you we are the Smiling Coast of Africa. Every country in Africa should send their leaders just for three hours to get a true lecture from my President Yahya Jammeh on how a good leader should be. My president is one man that every African or friends of Africa should try to know and emulate due to his leadership qualities," she declared. "My president [President Yahya Jammeh] is celebrating 16 years of power this July and I can tell you we have seen positive changes in The Gambia. You are all invited to come to The Gambia and celebrate with us; you can all make The Gambia your second home and choose to invest there. In The Gambia everyone is a Gambian as long as you live in peace and observe the rule of law, you are like any other citizen," Jabbie told the Africa Business Forum.

Africa, she pointed out, is a beautiful continent that everyone should be proud of. "It is time for us to stand and say we will not allow our continent to be destroyed by those who think they can brainwash us to take what is rightfully ours," she asserted. She continued: "We all have a part to play in our mission to see the greatness of Africa, it is time for us as the shakers and movers of Africa to start naming and shaming those leaders who are ruling us for their own selfish need, not ours, we have the internet, the media and the youths to help us in our struggle to get better governance for all Africa, when we all become united we will live better life in Africa, we don't have to worry about winter, autumn, spring or summer. In Africa we know how our day today will be, even without someone telling us.

"The African media should now move from this Western way of reporting our news and focus on promoting the good image of our continent. They should also give wider coverage of development sectors such as good roads; basic human needs; infrastructure; education; health; agriculture; tourism as well as peace and stability. Let us sing our own praises as I am doing now but we should only do it, we should make sure that what we are saying is the truth. I can stand in front of you all now and say my president and my country is the best in Africa and it is the truth. I can also say there are some countries in Africa that I will never go to because it is not fit for human beings to live and that also is the truth."

Fatima urged all Africans to come together and promote their countries as well as support their governments in the struggle to attain good governance in the continent."Let us use face Book, U Tube, Twitters, Yahoo Messengers, Google, My Space as I have done to help in the campaign of my president, you can see it on most of the sites; please copy and paste it on your site. VOTE PRESIDENT JAMMEH 2011. Help us Gambians to send the message out to the world that we know a good leader and we also know a bad one. Let us work as one people, whether as actors and actresses, footballers, business people, politicians, media practitioners, musicians and fashion designers, to use our influences and change our destinies," she further urged the gathering of African Business experts.

"I thank you all for listening and please come and invest in The Gambia, it is the safest country you can trust," she concluded.

Just another con job by a desperate hustler who will say anything to the gullible to get one of those plastic carrier bag gifts from The Sheikh. This lady would sell her own mother to get one of those bags. The Africa Business Forum was never held at the 'London Novotel Hotel'(i doubt any such hotel exist but there is probably a dozen or more Novotel hotels in London. The ABF 2010 was held at the Grange City Hotel in London. And i doubt if they would have given a platform to an ignoramus of such calibre. She certainly was not in the list of speakers and i doubt if she would have parted with £817.00 of her 'hard earned' cash to get a delegates pass. Pathetic!! These are unfortunately the con jobs who continue to benefit from The Sheikh's 'generousity' at the expense of poor rural farmers and taxpayers. Just make up a whopping tale like this(hoping nobody will notice), convince the gullible Observer management to make it front page news and lo and behold you're the guest of the ever generous Sheikh - there must be a real shortage of news-worthy stories in the Gambia. These graduates of Every Mbye school make sick.

I have no clue who she is married to. But she is hardly off the Observer pages. It is the 'London Novotel Hotel' that got my attention about a potential fraud to warrant my research.

Shaka... we humans are interesting creatures... my sister Jabbie is so desperate, so blinded that she cannot distinguish between left and right...

I have no problem her supporting President Jammeh... but you must wonder what world she lives in? Physically she lives in the UK but mentally and Psychologically she is a dead human walking alive...

Urging African leaders to get some training and advice from a country where citizens can disappear without trace....

A country where students can be massacred without anyone being held accountable...

A country where civil servants are treated like beast and send to mile II without due process of the law..

A country where no one dear stand up and challenge the status quo?

A country where majority of the population still drinks from wells and have no access to decent healthcare or education.

A country where the leader does anything and says anything he wants without a challenge...

A country where the best and the brightest of its citizens have to flee for saftely..

A country where $1 billion dollars worth of drugs can be seize within its premises...

What a country and leader to emulate for real???

Congrats to sister Jabbi for a job well done.... wow

Her story and everything stipulated is based on truth and facts Demba, If Shaka is proven right she just might be an opportunist knowing damn well that the evidence proving development cannot be over looked any more and the achievements of the APRC are tremendous. Playing the opportunist game is nothing new. Shaka mightstill be wrong Gambian journalist can barely type sometimes, maybe the only error was the venue Am not even gonna discuss the water, healthcare, education, or electricity business you tried to elaborate on, Gambians are not that stupid not to acknowledge the realities on the ground . It is terrorist like you that are disappearing and getting lost in the system Demba we ain't stupid. Look at your friend Baba Galleh "Mungi Duul la Duul behh Black" Tell him to get that mug shot picture off the internet with his leather Jacket and go get a hair cut "Nyaka Jomm"..................................Peace

Thank you Shaka (Zulu)! I totally agree with your position. Fatim Jabbi's political speech (assuming it actually happened in real life outside her imagination) at such an august gathering, the African Business Forum, is indeed the limit of disgrace, her incompetency and immorality.
I would expect her to emphasize the benefits of investing in the Gambia; the positive economic, business, and legal environment, the Gambia's strategic location and stability, etc; rather than present herself as a stupid, opinionated, rambling political sycophant. At a business forum? Sh..t!

It is official folks!!! It is indeed a WHOPPER!! I have just got off the phone with Ms. Sunayna Sethi(in charge of enquiries about the ABF speakers) at the Commonwealth Business Council. According to her Fatima Jabbie was DEFINITELY NOT a speaker at ABF 2010. She said Jabbie might have been a delegate(which she cannot confirm) and if Mrs/Ms. Jabbie was indeed a delegate, the closest she could have opened her mouth at the ABF would have been durring the question and answer session, when delegate were given a chance to ask questions. It also seem like there have already been enqiuries prior to mine about Fatima. I hope it is from State House or the Daily Observer. One con job busted, a million and one to go. What a bunch of clueless leadership we have in The Gambia. Interested parties can contact:

Nice.

diaspora! Too many Chiefs and Very Few Indians.

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices.

It's the same Fatima Jabbie; she's a very shady hustler.
http://allafrica.com/stories/200208190171.html

Fatima is always horing for the limelight with tricky tactics...

She should be very careful, else she'd risk going to the slammer for giving "false information."

It's good that those laws are enforced. Else "dul mongers" would render the country ungovernable. Some folks roam between offices all day spreading nonsense and raising false alarms.

The punishments are not harsh enough. The punishments should mirror the US equivalent of lying to a federal agent or congress.

Shaka, going by what has so far come up, the whole thing smells bad enough. This type of thing has been going on for long. Chairman is so easily carried. It is good you tracked this one from source.
