Jammeh Dismisses Energy Minister
By Saikou Jammeh

President Jammeh Monday dismissed the minister of energy Ousman Jammeh. State-owned media reported that the energy ministry portfolio is moved to the office of the president

However no reason, as usual is forwarded for his sacking.

Ousman Jammeh, 57, was only redeployed to the energy ministry earlier this month following the dismissal of Sira Wally-Ndow, whose tenure, was as well short-lived.

His first appointment as Energy minister came in 2008, having served as Secretary General and minister responsible for Petroleum, Energy and Mineral Resources at the Office of the President.

Ousman Jammeh was appointed minister of foreign affairs in September 2009, replacing Dr. Omar Touray also sacked by president Jammeh.

Jammeh also served as permanent secretary under several ministries, including Agriculture, Trade, Works, Office of the President, Health and Local Government from 1994 to 2007 before being appointed as Secretary General Office of the president.

Is this the same guy freedom's editor prophesied to be our next president? Some of these join-the-list are funny. Initially it was General Tamba, and now...

Mock not,I think that H.E. is fully aware of bantaba, and maybe just maybe may pinch some good ideas that appear here from time to time.

He may not personally read it, but his hench men do.
Be careful what you write and give away about yourself.
It may seem far fetched, but it could harm your personal safety in UK and in Gambia.

This is why I write much less these days.

Gambiabev,I think that unless you are in business in Gambia or interfere in politics of The Gambia and just go to help people and enjoy yourself, as most of us do,you would have no problems,I think that casual readers of bantaba who do not know The Gambia may feel that the tourist is not safe, you must also remember that it is a MUSLIM country and "normal" behaviour in the west may be really shocking to some Gambians.

What makes you think the Chairman will log on to any forum and discuss with animals who don't have a clue about governments or the Law. Maybe in 20 years when Gambians mature and "Duul Kat ye" all die then he just might log on to discuss real issues. Meanwhile we leave that to Darboe and Halifa to try and convince their twisted ego's that they are reaching out to the diaspora. They are bargaining with terrorist and hoping their interest will be met in the process................................................Peace

They not only donkeys, they tend to represent and portray a level of incompetence unsurpassed in history. Their low level of maturity and incompetence is unprecedented. It's not only funny the methods being used to identify with the diaspora, but the unrealistic nature. They are very incompetent leaders in my book and are willing to break the laws in their interest as long as they can confuse the citizenry. I did not change my mind about the "Darboe's master piece regarding the Femi Peters incarceration" Senegambia you shall see it soon Insha allah, Barkeh Shiekh just kinda caught up. Yes Karamba they are typical fools..............................................Peace

Sometimes I try hard to understand you and be on your level but am assuming you are just too ignorant toubab. Kings don't break bro, and care less about fragility. Think again you gotta be a king to be on this level. Ask the kingTurk he'll tell ya. The King business is not for idealistic cheapo's.............................................Peace
