Greetings Everyone
It never ceases to amaze me no matter how long I stay away and then return that the debate on here is the same. Time's moved on get over the July 22 coup 1994 that was 16 years ago. The world is a different place.
In the world there are Sayers and Doers likewise this forum we have those who walk the walk and others who just talk the talk.
Welcome back Moe and for raising a good points re Santafara and Karamba,I thought they could do with an added boost for responsible writing on the net. Here's a sobering dose to surely good to focus the mind! Don't you think? Here's som Food for thought Guys about freedom of speech and incarceration of speech. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/north_east/7373639.stm http://www.thespec.com/News/BreakingNews/article/479326 , http://historymike.blogspot.com/2007/02/egyptian-blogger-convicted-for.html http://news.therecord.com/printArticle/506468
Jambo is an example of what we can do when we focus on making a dream into a reality through hard work. I'd like to congratulate you on building a school in Gambia well done

I think Gambians have managed to get over july 22nd and even went to the extent of granting them immunity from punishment. They can never ever be charged for the mutiny Period. Now we decided to look forward and the people's choice and champ seems to none other than Jammeh. There is nothing non entities can do about that except waste everyone's precious time talking about, what could have been. What we are talking about today is "What Is" not what was and could have been. There is a new Gambia in the Making and all patriotic citizens should make sure that it becomes a reality. The world does not revolve around Karamba and Santafara, In todays Gambia what requires to be strengthen is the very institutions you guys love to hate. I don't see anyone scrutinizing the very institutions that can set up a standard worthy of emulating. It's good to see you back Sister O, sister for life, Queen of the "Grand Bantaba" whether they like it or not. It's been a learning experience hangin with you at the Great Bantaba for the past 5 years or so, Thank You
Thanks also to the man of the hour: King Jambo........................................................Peace |

Greetings, Sister
This is the “Bantaba”, where talking is what we do, after all, work and so fort It is birds of the same, we all seem to be stocked in our positions. Janko can not expect others to change positions when his is the same Because Janko is not interested in other topics does not mean the debate is the same

DEFINITELY WE NEED TO GROW UP ON POLITICS OF CONFRONTATIONS, SLANDERS & SMEARING CAMPAIGNS? WE ARE ALWAYS STOCKED ON THIS VICIOUS CYCLE OF BLASTING JAMMEH & APRC WITHOUT ANYTHING PRODUCTIVE OR PROGRESSIVE TO CHANGE THE SYSTEM
THE BEST OPPOSITION CAMP OF MILITANTS COULD DO IS NOT TO ENGAGED IN FUTILE EXERCISES OF RANTINGS BUT TO COME UP WITH SOLUTIONS TO THE PROBLEMS THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED; WITH COLLECTIVE EFFORTS?
HOWEVER EVERYONE SHOULD EXERCISE OWN POLITICAL RIGHTS (SOVEREIGNTY) AS YOU WANT IT.
THANKS SISTER FOR MAKING ME MORE AWARE & WISER! |

Starting with the death of the UDP party after the 2011 elections I think the biggest challenge definitely would be a credible opposition. With all said Empty rhetoric from the opposition could quite possibly lead Gambia into a One party state for several reasons and it will be appealing to the general population that much I can assure you. They have no trust in the Opposition and this is my only concern.........................................Peace |

Well one party has been ruling for 16 years with a self impotent opposition.
Maybe in this decade we will see co-operation between APRC and other Political parties working for the common good aftera;; there is so much in Gambia that needs to be done, and in the west there are plenty of people who have skills and need something to do.
I would like to see more progressive politics and the end of negative confrontational politics.

That seems to be the trend and Waa Juwara is a true testament to that. APRC has always been willing to work with the opposition hand in hand but that is not in the interest of the opposition parties as has been proven. They don't view themselves as partners in development. They are what they are and taking a good look at Santafara and Karamba should tell you what the party is all about........................................Peace quote: Originally posted by Sister Omega

The parties future is bleak and the selection process will no doubt be a replication. The parties death is imminent and I will explain later. A bit tied up right now but I will surely tell you why?...............................................................Peacequote: Originally posted by Nyarikangbanna

C'mon now! you know dealing with a heavy weight like you,I have to back my facts and as I promised I will surely tell you why the UDP party is on the verge of extinction. All failed political parties are usually driven by incompetent leaders who are hired or given the opportunity to lead based on several factors which I will stay away from disclosing, but am assuming you know what they are. The selection process that led Darboe to be the UDP leader first of all failed to adhere to a structured selection process and it seems none of the party advocates decided to check “below the waterline”. They placed all their selection weight on the candidate’s Ethnic background instead of his knowledge, experience and skill to lead their organisation . Personally speaking I doubt if the desired candidate has the knowledge or experience to lead a political party. From what Darboe has been experiencing lately, being refused an audience by various foreign embassies and dignitaries etc, I doubt being blindfolded is an excuse to question his leadership skills. I know that Darboe doesn’t have the personality, mental ability, values and motives of a leader and the very reason the UDP party is faced with a Dilemma.
After the 2011 elections, trust me the selection process for another leader will never the less be the same again. It will be another replication of a backward strategy based on Klansman-ship. Do you think an opposition led by Femi Peters will get a time of day in Gambia or is there someone else who Can save the party from demise?
If the UDP wants to be held as a responsible party, The first objective is to get these low life uneducated fools out of the party affairs. Santafara from the UDP-UK branch is nothing but a liability to the party's future and and his likes seem to be lingering on every site including the Gambia L, their identity is easily identifiable this I can assure you, I don't have to explain since the party sees it as a strategy but trust me Karamba,Santafara, and the Klan members at the Gambia L, have reinvented the wheel, UDP is no longer a legitimate political party and thats just my opinion, Just name the person that could change the outcome of the party after 2011? Most of the die hards have decided to form Human rights organizations and so called democratic advocacy groups, just to propel the lies and put some kind of importance on their terrorist roles.
I doubt the UDP party was built on a solid foundation,I know that it came into being when the major political parties where banned and opportunity was written all over the wall. That was the time to take advantage of the situation not at present. Gambians are still awaiting an apology from Darboe or atleast an explanation for why NADD failed? but it seems he is too cowardly to accept mistakes, true signs of poor leadership ................................................................Peace

Nice one Moe. Here's some pointers for some of you Guys who can't seem to have a calm discussion without blowing a gasket
The ability to maintain self control - They treat others with respect irrespective of the person’s level in the organization. - The ability to build, motivate and maintain a team(s) to a common goal. - The ability to assert control of others to the right degree, in the right amount, at the right time. - Integrity
No take a deep breathe now and inhale and put the brain in gear to think of a new strategy because right now Guys your strategy just ain't working.
Peace
