Qatar, Gambia sign labour agreement QNA/Doha
HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Gambian President Al-Haji Yahya Jammeh witness the signing of an agreement between Qatar and Gambia Qatar and Gambia signed an agreement on regulating Gambian labour following talks between HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Gambian President Al-Haji Yahya Jammeh who arrived in Doha earlier yesterday on a working visit. Talks during the meeting, which was held at the Emiri Diwan, dealt with bilateral relations and means of enhancing them in various fields in addition to a number of regional and international issues. Following the meeting, the Heir Apparent and the Gambian president witnessed the signing of an agreement between the governments of Qatar and Gambia on regulating means of hiring Gambian workers in Qatar. The agreement was signed by HE the Social Affairs Minister Nasser bin Abdullah al-Hemaidi, who is also acting Minister of Labour, and Gambian Minister of Trade, Regional Integration and Employment Abdou Kolley. On the Gambian side, the talks were attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ousman Jammeh, the Minister of Trade, Regional Integration and Employment Abdou Kolley, the Minister of Higher Education Momodou Tangara, the Minister of Tourism and Culture Fatou Mas Jobe-Njie, secretary general and head of the Civil Service Mariama Khan, the undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy Teting Mba Jetah, permanent secretary general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs William Jhon Joof and Gambia’s Ambassador to Qatar Ansumana Jammeh. Later the Heir Apparent hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the Gambian president and his accompanying delegation. Send Article Print Article
