PRAYER OF A SUICIDE BOMBER: ----------------------------
Listen to the prayer of a suicide bomber May Allah accept me as a martyr It's hard to take a side Even to make an opinion about the Mid-East
What become easier Is what the "infidel" has said All violence must cease Sharon must pull out Arafat must denounce terror
Listen to this young ambassadors of death You tell me It's hard to draw a line Between Jenin and Sharpville Arafat and Mandela
What become easier Is what the "infidel" put forward The Road Map
Global terrorism The bombings in East Africa, The World Trade Center,... Demonizes a Palestinian cause
Who're these armies of God fighting Africa ? America ? Israel ? The infidel ? Modernity ?
Listen to the prayer of a suicide bomber May Allah accept me as a martyr And see the fat Mullah running for his own.

a streotypical classic kay. No surprises. A good valuation of the Plalestinian cause would help in appreciating the poem. All desperate actions are triggered by a sophisticate plot. Yet, the red neck version of events is glamourised as the fact. I wonder who the poem can identify as a willing individual runing toward death. The poem portrays images the writer allowed his mind to be consume with. Again, Edward Said's brillaint book, 'Covering Islam' will do in correcting the ever increasing experts on Islam, Terrorism and suiside bombers. The writer fail to point out that, it has always been his imperial idols whose racialist thougts, arrogance and blindedness to the feelings of others that made some ready to stake it all. Did the writer ever question the reason why some despice Imperialism in all its quise? If he accept the domination of what he sees as the norm, some do not, hence the different forms of battle will ever be present with us. truth and justice will continue to be blured. Heroes and villains will be made in Hollywood, In the New York Times Office, The broad sheet, the state department, the Sun newspaper and the new career in experting Islam and the Islamic mindset will yeild some much needed buffer salary. Why? In the end, the sixty year oppession of an entire nation, base on racism, prejudice and arrogance... topping it all, misinformation and modern modes of killing enmass, yet blame the boy who can kill, ten ,twenty, or fifty, forget about the missiles, forget about the high tech control efficinet killing machines, forget about submarines, forget about all the modern weaponery, focus of a religious person. Yes, he is the bigot, the idiout, the crazy one, the anti-west, anti-logic, anti-himself, anti-modern. this way, everybody smile when he is kill, the reasons needn't be explain. tuly, the suiside bomber is commiting limitless sin, he transgress his own soul, desecrate his body, limbs etc. But why? It seems the writer assume one and one reason only, his faith. How wrong. Politics, mad politic send the Japanise to initiate the kamikazi, its politics that send Gorrilahs into jungles. And today, the Palestinain resistant groups are utilising the same old methods, tinge with their faith to boost courage, but deep down what the likes of Goerge Habass started was a maxist style resistance. Blame Islam as usual, the fans will come. Good poem. Thanks |

Santa, thanks for your take. This is a very old poem, written just shortly after 911 and have been posted here quite some time ago. I have re-posted it on Momodou's request. I think he wants to retrieve it from the archives and put it under the poetry section or something like that. But having said that, I think I tried to be very balanced in this poem, although I still lean towards my core belief that nothing justifies violence, except perhaps violence itself. Whenever there is a chance for peaceful solutions, everyone is obliged to pursue that instead of violence as a philosophy. I have even compared Israeli atrocities in Jenin to the atrocities in Sharpville, South Africa where Black demonstrators were massacred by the Apartheid police. I have also compared Arafat to Mandela acknowledging that sometimes differeciating them is difficult. But I have insisted that random killings of civilians in the name of what not is indefensible and only complicates a genuine Palestinian cause. I think in totality, this poem is not extremely biased; but I take note of your points. Thanks buddy. |

Kay, thanks for re-posting the poem. It’s sad to see how young people are brain washed in the name of Islam to go and commit this very sinful act where in most cases it is innocent people who loose life and limbs.
