| "Be" as it really should stands clear in that poem , nice and to the point. I like it. I also can hear the Mandeng word "BE" meaning today which symbolically points at current affairs affecting our motherland,what it should be like and it isn't and what it isn't like but should be ; all glare at us. People are crying for change though silently that cry is a very loud one too. A wish and a prayer here for us amen ! |

Lot more thanks for your very insightful digest of what looks like short and simple word as "Be" and how vast derivations can lend weight to this little word.
You are all right from your diverse yet comprehensive perspectives. To cap up where Kaanibaa captures, we might as well add, "Be tillo, Yaya Jammeh", bari, mansa kiling jamana buka duniya bang!" |

Rightly observed by Janko is that;
"it is when you DO that you BEcome."
It is not enough to say I will. You have to be what you think of becoming. But like Janko clearly put it, it is when you DO.
Again, when you DO then it is known who BE you. Saying something and doing the opposite of that does not make you BE the person whose picture you cast on the billboard. And, we have lot of those cases.
"Thou shall not steal" and you steal,
"Thou shall not kill", then you kill,
"Thou shall not covet", you set your mind on what others possess,
Be, and let others Be.
