Lunar signals

Sweet smiling cool moon
Set in a mystic allure
Surrounded by tiny eyes of angles in gleeful delight
Yes smiling at earthlings down below
That get covered by floating cloud hills
Once every little while

Mama tells me they are there to guide
The aware to the path of salvation
Whilst the moon smiles an encouragement
To the travellers all night long
Heedless ones get lost
Never to get to their desired destinies

The lonely dog bayed a morning
That they say is an omen of sorts
Boding evil for the coming days
Perhaps it is the smell of the lurking hyeana
Scavenging for a freebie
Yet far up in the skies
The moon smiles nonstop
Signalling hope
To the ill in despair

In the village square
Little children out to play
Hide and seek in the shadows set
Echo shrills at discovery of the hidden mates
Without any fears of what is to come
Innocent children have no worries at all
What with stomachs filled with food
They simply live for the moment in joy
As the moon smiles up above
Setting up a magic show
In a timeless space of life

When it is time to go to bed
They do the "tackos" and flee in glee
That is the goodbye till another day
Perhaps it will be the same again
What it will be will be for sure
But the smiling moon
Stays right up in the skies
Accompanied by the twinkling eyes
Till the break of day
Perhaps they too go to bed
To rest
