Like so many of the TransAtlantic traded African Diaspora (including myself) experience a patchwork of family history which often hits solid blocks of no return to our African homeland's family tree.
So, being able to piece together this important period of international history is more of a collective experience for the African Diaspora. As symbolised by Alex Haley's book "Root's" central Character "Kunta Kente's geneology, which help to reinstate Gambia into the world's psyche.
Roots signified the human consequences of chattel slavery and the challenges faced by its victims. The aspirations of freedom from bondage Human and Human Rights.
