Does anyone know about Zulkarnain (Dyul Karnayn) and whether or not Alexandra the Great is the one Islam scripture refers to as King Zulkarnain?

Turk, Momodou, Mbye, Mansa Sulu, please help.

I have no idea. However, I have now done a search in the search field at the bottom of this page and got some links. Here is one answer to the question "Is Alexander The Great and Iskandar Zulkarnain the same person?" from http://malaysia.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090217010600AAaI1ye :

"Best Answer - Chosen by Voters
Probably Not.

Alexander The Great is reported as Pagan Mecedonian Emperor.

In Islam,
Zulkarnain is reported as emperor that humble to Allah. It is probably Cyrus The Great, which reported worship "ONE God like the Jews". Bible favours Cyrus The Great as "Appointed by God" even though he is not a Jews.

I want to emphasis that, In Al-Quran, ISKANDAR is NOT mentioned at all. Allah only mention ZULKARNAIN.

But we didn't know if Alexander suddenly turns to Monotheist after mixed with the Middle-Eastern and promotes Hellenistic due to that.......... "

Thank you Momodou,

The reason for raising this question relates to conflicting views that arose interest about who the real King Zulkarnain was.

Look at these:

Karamba, I understand that there is great controversy as to whether Alexander the Great is the person mentioned in the Holy Quran as Zulkarnain. I have asked someone about your question and he told me that many Islamic scholars have written that Alexander The Great is indeed Zulkarnain in the Quran. Nonetheless, that does not mean that they are right because it is based on opinion.

Anyway thanks for the information about this subject. I look forward to see the documentary.

Thank you Momodou,

One wonders how facts of life about people and events get so twisted by historical accounts.

That is why we have to keep the accounts of people and events in Gambia for historical fact tracking.

After One Hundred years, we don't want people asking if Yaya Jemus Jammeh is the same person as Seikh, Professor, His Excess lengthy, General, Doctor Junkung Jammeh. Are we dealing with the same person?
