Has the Train Left the Station Leaving the Gambian opposition and the Diaspora Behind?

For a while I have argued that Gambians support the APRC administration because APRC has succeeded where PPP failed. The APRC development policy is new and a breath of fresh air. The rapid rate of development has galvanized Gambians in support of the ruling party.

The question Gambian voters ask is: What does the opposition and the Diaspora have to offer? This is politics 101. Gambian political landscape remains me of the current republican dilemma. Republicans do not have an answer to the phenomena called Obama because they lack leadership and direction; this is very similar to the Gambian story. Gambian opposition do not have a leader and do not have an answer to a Government that provides stability and an unequivocal development policy. The development phenomena is attracting the masses.

Bermuda is a tiny rock in the middle of the Atlantic how can one possibly see from there which direction the Gambian train is rolling? Ebou4th the Gambian opposition is following its tail in ever decreasing circles in the Diaspora. The only credible opposition will come from with from within from a legitimate manadate from the people. Gambians need to have faith in Leaders who don't desert them when the going gets tough and have integrity to follow through with on their visions of nation building for future generations of Gambians to come.

To cut it short the APRC house is more in order and fit for purpose than the oppositions. While this remains the case Gambians at home will continue to vote for a government that can deliver on its promises than one that doesn't have a clear vision or transparent manifesto.

Whats happening here Sister ? once again I agree with you, policies are thin everywhere, progress (Ok, modernisation) IS being made at the moment, although it is true to say that there is a strong all powerful mode prevailing, which should be toned down, but in order for progress to be continued, maybe Gambians require this mode of rule to give them a kick start to join the outside world.

Of course, sis/bro? Omega. ...Gambians at home will continue to vote for a government that can deliver on its promises than one that doesn't have a clear vision or transparent manifesto."
But USA President Barak Obama said in Ghana: "No business wants to invest in a place where the government skims 20 percent off the top, or the head of the Port Authority is corrupt. No person wants to live in a society where the rule of law gives way to the rule of brutality and bribery. That is not democracy, that is tyranny, even if occasionally you sprinkle an election in there."
Food for thought......................................................................sis/bro?
