and you know what would be really nice, if you also posted that lovely story you shared with us on bantaba about you and your wife and the time you visted gambia. I loved reading it, and I am sure others would as well. |

I love to visit - have not, as yet, felt the need to buy, stay - or live there. Not sure what I would do to work/spend my time. I've seen a lot of expat properties and they don't appeal. So, for me - it's just visits. I hope - when I have more time (retirement, I guess!!) to be able to spend longer in gambia (perhaps amonth at a time) - but I think, by then, I'll just stay with my closest friends in farato village - their house has room for me!

'black orchid', do you think your slightly aggressive advertisement of a probably competitive forum here in the Bantaba is good style? I don't know if Momodou likes it, but to me it is a bit distasteful. |

my big plan was live in gambia 6 months, work uk 6 months for two years and start a business and have self sufficiency. Life over took me. But i have had to face a reality check and will stay in UK for the next two years, but will go with the charity i have started, tried to launch the business but stupidity, greed, rates of exchange and human nature have stopped me. In hind sight could be a good thing. |

You wouldn't be advertising another place to post would you ? perhaps you have a feeling that some of those who used to post here have got fed up and moved, names have probably changed byt the way a post comes across can be quite individual,Any thoughts on that as presumably you are a member of the other site ?

Ok I admit it, I have had a nose around at "the other place" but I was really put off and confused at the spikey jazzy full in your face layout and to find anything was just very difficult, so I gave up,sorry, bantaba in cyberspace is clear easy to navigate,I will say though that it has been very quiet recently since "the two main topics of discussion" have not had many recent postings, these topics may well have migrated to "the other place" yes I found them there with very little problem,so I am here boring everybody stupid |

I looked at that other site and found it too busy for my eyes but no one can ignore there's more activity.
I've been on Bantaba some years now and in my opinion there's just too many sections on the home page. It appears exhausting just looking at the many area's and with old post dates can look tired.
As an example the 'Travel and tourism' forum has 4 sub sections. This should be one header with the 4 sub sections available once you click and enter. Having a choice at the start immediately has you question what you want from that area and on clicking one of the four automatically eliminates the other three topics which might have been relevant to the users enquiry or interest.
Clicking on a topic header should open up the possibilities and not isolate your choice.
Don't take that as hard criticism Boss but seeing that the subject of low posts has been bought up.....
