Unless the Opposition assumes it full responsibility putting aside greed, potential personal aggrandizement which is likely to follow political assent. The Opposition should know that they are the ultimate solution to our present predicament. The Opposition who many claim are intellectual should put in a structure whcih is personality free or ELSE THEY WILL BE WORSE OFF THAN THAN THE APRC.
Until we have an opposition which is ready to EDUCATE THE MASSES ABOUT THEIR RIGHTS HONESTLY, BUILD A STRUCTURE FOR PROSTERITY, DEMONSTRATE IN DEED AND WORDS THAT ITS A VIABLE OPTION AS A GOV'T IN WAITING,WORKING HAND IN HAND WITH THE MASSES AND RESPECT THE MASSES VOICES they will fail and make the lives of the masses more degradable!
Madiba that suits both the opposition and the ruling party, therefore we at crossroads and it is Gambians who listens to their advocacy and campaign strategies who know better for them. However the opposition parties have more blame especially the power struggle and responsibilities to mobilise the masses in grandstand style and sacrifice whatever is neccessary sincerely, to form a formidable coalition and unite mainly to make an impact on the elections before its late. |

Kobo,
I decided to leave out the APRC simply because as far as am concerned they have failed in some areas and need to give way before more damage is done. TOO MUCH STAY IN A PLACE ATTRACTS LIES! |

Leaving APRC is not the issue "as others are leaving others are joining". The opposition have not realised that the APRCs' organisation and networking is more stronger than each of the opposition parties and the best strategy for them is to unite to make them credible. Reviewing the MOU these were the highlights for the basis of the coalition and each party was willing and endorsed the strategy. However they failed because of power struggle and lack of sincerity at this crucial time where they had the opportunity to adopt the best strategy to unite. History will judge them as traitors and corrupt political leaders who had the chance the salvaged the situation. |

Hi Kobo,
Do you really think unity amongst the opposition parties will be realistically achieved before the coming elections? It seems to me that it will take another five years before the opposition will be organised enough to put into action effective strategies to allow them to offer Gambia's a real alternative style of government.Who knows maybe the next party to rule Gambia hasn't even emerged yet. With all the rhetoric which has been going on it seems that the opposition will be in the political wilderness for some years to come.

I am very optimistic that they would assess the recent elections and make some positive decisions from them for strategic reasons. I believe they would table the MOU and re-negotiate new deals to form a more formidable coalition under the circumstances before the General elections, as its never too late than never. Reviewing the MOU which all opposition parties committed themselves earlier before the power struggle for the flagbearer, shows from the background information that they realised the need to unite under one umbrella to topple Jammeh and dislodge the APRC; and that spirit still exist and is more vibrant than before. NADDs flagbearer Halifa Sallah and Sedia Jatta appears to be very flexible, humble, very sensible politicians, good political strategists who advocate for empowerment of the masses but some of those in NADDs bandwagon especially the likes of Mborodi Waa Juwara and O.J.Jallow are stumbling blocks for reconciliation to give or accept olive branches from Ousainou Darboe and Hamat Bah of the UDP/NRP alliance and for progress of the coalition. I trust Ousainou Darboe's maturity in Gambian politics would reconsider his position in consultation with Hamat Bah for them to resolve to make some element of sacrifices to integrate again with NADD and make the coalition more effective before the General elections at all costs inorder to topple Jammeh and dislodge the APRC. The recent election results would boost public outcry from the masses for that option available and the best strategy for them. Looking forward for that unity under one umbrella before the General elections. Lets put our fingers across and follow any developments on their campaign trails, to see what happen next and whether the opposition would becaome more sober learning from the recent statistics of the overall popular votes .
May God bless the coalition to progress and give its leader more wisdom to lead, uplift standards and empowerment of the masses! I pray that they recieve these messages better than us, understand them better than us and for God to help us see it happen immediately! |

My fellow compatriots, I called upon you to mobilise ourselves in the spirit of patriotism and solidarity as the struggle continues. Don't sleep in slumber, degraded and enslaved by an individual and a corrupt system that all of us are guilty of allowing them to mature and growing from strength to strength because of greed, selfih reasons, power hungry, complacent and laisser-faire attitudes, day dreaming "Gambia no problem", dis-orientation, igonorance, traitors, paranoid, petrified and cowardice, You all know that you have one of the worst and weakest leaders of the century, who insults you, bullies you, maime you, torture you, murder you, terrorise you, uses your national assets for self aggrandisement and like his personal properties, corrupts and manipulates all machinations at his disposal. You have seen his last rites and declarations in this ruthless speech for his next agenda , which includes staying for another 30 years whether you like it or not!, more blacklists, murders and civil crises; on where he is leading Gambia towards a no man's land; May God forbid it!. What is your problem to deal with him and his tyranny at all costs?
The ball is in your court. Please lets unite UNDER ONE BANNER OR UNMBRELLA to allow a good leader break the vicious cycle. Good bye and no further comments coming out from me on this topic. Thanks for your attention. |

I hope you are right Kobo that they will try to look beyond themselves and merge again. The only problem is some have already started attcaking each other and how will they address that. I dont think it is too late. They need to know that to win, it is just simple majority which is esy for APRC once the opposition is divide.
I think we should start preparing congratulatory mesages to APRC for November. I have already drafted mine because the trend is definitely in their favour.
Trust me, i may not vote for APRC but they are very clever in keeping their supporters at bay and always focused on their agenda. May be we need to learn what they are doing right. I dont see anything wrong in that. |
