The news the bbc has is a bit different theyare saying mozambique has now qualified. the remining place now goes to either Gambia or Guniea. That means Guinea has to lose or draw for Gambia to go thru

lets look on the bright side, it was an historic win, they're young, skilled and their best days are ahead of them.
lets keep supporting them and i'm sure they will continue to make us all very proud.

It is alright to cry Santa, because we were robbed by CAF and FIFA. To go out on goal difference and not even points because of some stupid last minute rules by CAF and FIFA is evil. The rule have always been that when a team is expulsed or withdrew from the competition, the other teams in their group benefit in the group stages and if it is a knockout, then the team they were supposed to play get all the points. Why should CAF and FIFA change all this only to deprive worthy and deserving teams like Gambia, South Africa and Cape Verde who all finished second in their groups and are rightly deserving of a place in Angola 2010? I believe the Gambia sports ministry has good grounds for legal action against CAF and FIFA and i would very much encourage it especially if they can drag the South Africans and the Cape Verdians along. If 21 can participate in the tournament(that is if Uganda had clinched the second spot in their group ahead of Angola, which almost happened), making it almost impossible to group them without coming back to this same dilemma we are currently faced, then adding adding these three teams into the mix to make it 23 teams should not be problem. I hope the Gambia sports ministry consider my argument. |

You know what this means Njucks? It means almost 3 years of non-competitive football. There is no better way to waste the talent of this golden generation than depriving them of competitive football. What CAF and FIFA did is absolutely criminal. |
