Great!!!!!!!!!!!! I was reading seneweb and can glean some foul words from desperate fans who used such effusive language unfit for these pages. Bravo Scorpions < chakanam rek nak>. |

Bad news: the Senegalese fans are rioting and burning the buildings of the Senegalese Football Federation in anger. Thank God it is not directed at the Scorpion fans so far. Lets pray for the safety of the players and fans. |

The Senegalese security forces are doing a brilliant job keeping the Scorpion fans safe. They are still kept at the stadium and not allowed to leave. |

Damn, our chance of making the best eight is hanging on the thread. We are so far better off than Cape Verde, South Africa and Mozambique. We are praying Guinea does not beat Kenya by three or more goal margin. We also need Angola or Uganda not to win. Our best bet is bet is the Guinea match. We will all be Kenyan fans tomorrow. |

Shaka,
I think we are better than Togo too, who are on six. Thats leave it neat and clean for the scorpions to be part of the last 8. Togo's group have played all their 4 matches if am not mistaken and Togo is in second place with 6 points. |

I wish it was that simple Madiba but CAF and FIFA brought in these crazy rules after Ethopia's expulsion and Eritea's withdrawal. http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/preliminaries/africa/secondplace.html "The solution settled upon was the following: once all the matches in the four-team groups have been played, the results between the second- and fourth-placed sides will not be considered when comparing the second-placed teams' respective records" In this context Gambia has 5 points from the win against Algeria and the two draws against Senegal and 0 goal difference. Togo is better off than Gambia because they have 6 points. Guinea has 2 points from two draws agaianst Zimbabwe and -2 goal difference. Uganda/Angola both have 4 points. I warn you; you will need a hot cup of coffee to get around this.

Just heard that after the match people starting celebrating in the streets. Unfortunately, somebody died during the 'celebrations'(Westfield area, around the Big Tree). What a pity that football can have such desastrous consequences.. |

There is still a good chance that we will progress. It is dependent on Angola beating Niger by a better goal margin than a Uganda victory against Benin. This is possible because Angola's result against Niger does not count for them, but it can dent Uganda's hope because Angola clinches the second spot with better goal difference but not enough to see them through. The second Hail Mary is if Guinea lose or beat Kenya by less than 2 goal margin. Either situation is possible considering Kenya needs to avoid defeat to avoid the top dogs in the other groups in the next round. If Kenya regards this as not so important then we are in trouble. |

Let me make you as confused as i am. I have just stumbled upon the fact Angola is the host of the 2010 African Cup of Nation. Therefore a place is automatically reserved for Angola. Twelve teams have already qualified for CAN 2010 plus Angola, to be joined by er......eight best runners up. That would make 21 teams wouldn't it? But the tournament permits only 20 teams. How the hell are they going to fit Angola in this format. If Gambia or Uganda and/or Guinea clich the eight best runner up position who is going to be eliminated to make way for Angola or are we going to see 21 teams in the tournament. |
