JUVENILE YOUTHS
The little things we take for granted
A wide topic with lots of implications. Our societies take advantage of some of the little things we should have cherish and promote. I was watching a small documentary about a small U.K town. This town was control by juvenile youths. The people together with the police came with an idea of introducing a self-impose curfew.
Youths are barred from leaving home from 9pm to morning. This means parents who couldn’t spend time with children due to bickering and endless quarrels are forced to find a compromise. To stay together as a family, talk and discuss issues. This self-impose curfew stopped the night time fighting and noise. People felt safe and can sleep with ease. Anti-social behaviours create endless police time wasting. The curfew helps safe police time, no form filling, no arrest and no jail time.
The summer holiday in the town went fine and children safety was guaranteed.
The little things, i mean, spending time with one’s family and children. Argue in a polite and respectable manner. Eat together and chat. The community spirit and harmony is a small thing modern way of life can eliminate but, it is central to social harmony and peace.

Surah- Ar-Rum 30-22

Santa,I saw that programme and everyone appeared to be happy with the curfew and the problems appeared to go away, so as an experiment it worked,BUT I have my doubts if it would work in large cities were some youths have really got out of control with gangs,a bit like some places in the US that I have read about. These youths would not care at all and they have no parent control to exert a controlling hand.Until the government in the UK starts to consider the wellbeing of NORMAL people instead of concentrating on how to save money, or how to make money, today figures were realeased into how the fixed penalty tickets issued for antisocial behaviour have shot up,instead of dealing with the problems just making money from problems.A drastic rethink is necessary here if you were a youth who had been given a fixed penalty ticket for being bad, would that change your behaviour I doubt it.I did a little research on the WWW to find aout about the results and nealey all the pages I found were government sponsored sites that were in favour of fixed penalty notices, hardly surprising of course I did find one page that gave a different view which I think is how things are, have a read of this link.

OMG, i read this link of yours T1020. What is the world coming to (as my old mother is asking me everytime i visit her)? What awful stories, what is happening to these young people? I agree with you, the wellbeing of normal people seems to be less and less the concern of governments. But it has always been like this: people who demand most attention, get most. I see that everyday in my classes and everday i have to tell myself: i should be spending more attention to the silent majority who are just doing their work and who don't disturb me instead of always fussing over those troublemakers who only want one thing: my undivided attention.

You know, most of the time i am so relieved that in this stage of my life i do not have the responsibily for young children anymore.

Thanks Santa and Anna,
I really think that it is time for those in powere to do a proper job and solve the problems highlighted in the link I provided,as I mentioned all the other information I found was from government sponsored sites saying how good the project was,as you saw for yourself when the truth is exposed by an unfettered site it is very different, answers ? Its absolutely ridiculous, an estimated £25 million has been spent on this problem in England and Wales and what has that gone on??
Pen pushers sorry Anti-Social Behaviour Co-ordinators who sit @ a desk deciding on strategy's and training to intervene, the most common being Acceptable Behaviour Contracts !!!

Do they honestly think any one of these people engaging in the activities described in that link give a damn about entering into these contracts? I'd love to live on these peoples planet.
