Do you remember that great brute
He came to dinner uninvited
Ate all our food
And left his mound of smelly dung
As a parting gift
Smelly thanks from him I say
See him in the river now
Huge float on the waters
Sleek swimmer on the move
We wait with baited breath for his landing
There again to clear the fields
To fill his guts
Silly glutton
We hate him so much
Alas we most bear his presence
As a decree protects him
We can only but glare with fiery eyes
As he makes us suffer
Loss upon loss of our harvest and feed
Here Hippo is king
Our lands are his pasture
To graze on at will
while we endure the pangs
Of hunger and anger

you are truly satiric in poetry. Typically, if a hippo gets to your rice field, that's when you despise this animal even more. The poem so pictured the hippo we have at the palace, scattering and separating families with their love ones with a magnitude of destruction/arrogance as observed.
