Three whisperers

Under the huge 'bantang' tree
Sat three whisperers
Plying their trade
They are called
yesterday
Today and
Tomorrow
I heard them have a chat

Yesterday said
That he is history
Lived and to be revisited by the mindful
From him we humans learn our mistakes
Earn our just recompense
Bury our loses
Wake up from our dreams to face

Today , who said
That he is a precious gift
It is present
But none of us knows
How it will end for us
So we most with hindsight
Exploit what comes good
Discard the wasteful
Save for the future
which is so uncertain

Tomorrow added to say
Coming as a promise
It is not a certainty
It is ahead we all know
But who can tell
If one will be around
To see the next rising sun
None of us for sure
So we depend on hope
Having lived yesterday
Waking up today is a gift
That one should cherish
As it might be the last

They then flew away
To keep their various appointments
While I sat there
Pondering on what I just overheard
Was I perhaps dreaming

Bro Kaniibaa,

This one is a very emotional poem, honestly speaking. If not for its ordinary message and simple wording, it is factual enough for anyone to grasp its application to life existence. It is obvious. It is deeply philosophical.

Life as it appears to be is only built on these three stages. Probably, the certainty is yesterday and today, and no one knows about tomorrow except the Supreme God.

It might as well serve better as a warning or brother/sisterly advice to all and sundry.

Yesterday is gone and known
Today is going on
And tomorrow is yet to shine

It reminds of this hal-pular proverb, thus “Saa mayanih, ah tagdahkah,” meaning “until you are dead, creation is not complete for you.” That is true.

Regards,
Dalton

Thanks bro Dalton, every day of my life I get inspiration from my environment. This covers everything around me ,what intrigues me is the way we go about our various lives as if we are marooned on an island.Lost and with no one to care for any one.We just trudge on unconcerned about what happens to others as long as we are fine.So we get those who see nothing evil as long as it is not against them, hear no evil as long as it does not touch them and finally do not talk about issues which they feel do not concern them.Funnily these very same individual would cry out for help from others, those whom he would have left to be destroyed by evil in what ever form.Mishaps could befall any one and so it is important to remember this as one never can tell when their turn comes round the bend, and who would be around to render help.It may well be the one you saved from an ugly situation earlier on.The past and present are thus to be utilized as good references for tomorrow; a very important tool for the wise.
