Hereby dedicated as promised to Kiwi, whom I have never met but who tickled me , like fish out of water. So prodded me to scribbling the following in jest I hope and pray that it makes you smile.I am sure you are a nice person who reaches out to others so I share this Gambian experience with Love in the air.
To Gambia With Love
At the Coconut Lodge On the Atlantic coast I sat waiting for sunset Sluggishly it fell As if afraid to plunge into the sea A Luminous dial of fire That reddish hue Hung in the horizon Displaying beauteous light galleries Heralding the majestic descent
At this momentous moment I heard a sweet gasp At a peep I sighted another beauty So serene and so natural A competition of rivals Here ensued I the judge At a loss who to crown
Caught in the trance I struggled to chose Which of the twain I most have Walking to her side I joined her watch the radiance That multicolored display of lights A free show For the Atlantic spectators Attending the final rest The Mighty sun in Atlantic sea
The show ends But waits for another To toast her though I offered a single fruit To top up her cocktail The exotic Kiwi fruit Complimented I hope The displayed fruity salad Beauty's meal for that evening
Holding hands We sat waiting in silence For twinkling stars To take their turn On the celestial stage When they showed We counted a million But lost count as we kissed On the rocks By the Coconut Lodge On that Great Atlantic coast
Oh blissful night Filled with aromatic scents Flowing from various flowery plants Inflaming the romantic urge Drunk and hungry for each other We ambled to the lusty chambers Oblivious of time passing by Only the cock's crow Heralding a new day brought us Waking up Still yearning for the return Of yesterday
