STGDP INTACT, AND NEVER WAS A SHAKE.

For over a week, Allgambian writers were hinted with a lot of tips regarding a "shake" within STGDP officials. Our source further indicated that both Kebba Foon, and Fatou Jaw Manneh resigned unexpectedly, however no reasons were known for their resignation. The same source indicated that Musa Jeng is the Interim Chairman for the said Association.

While we commend STGDP officials for the noble job they are rendering selflessly, we also expect them to mentain their public status by notifying people, either through their website or through media organisations, as to what their daily activities are. Keeping the society well informed is the only way to kill gossips and newsmonger.

In our quest to investigate the said "shake", Allgambian Staff writer, Yero Jallow addressed an e-mail to the Chairman of STGDP, and copies were send to its members. Below we reproduce the letters mailed to us by STGDP officials, to show the whole world that they are intact and moving fast with their agendas.

LETTER FROM MUSA JENG, ASSUMED INTERIM COORDINATOR

I am glad you have taken the responsible step of getting clarification, and STGDP thank you for that. As for resignations you indicated in your inquiry, I will not not classify it as such. Since the creation of STGDP there has always been rotational movements within the organization. The interesting thing about STGDP, it is a team driven organization, and I can tell you that all the members tend to handle variety of the functions. Every now and then Exec members get busy with family, school and work, and this is when they step back and take other duties that are less demanding. This is exactly what happen in this case. The people you mentioned are still in the thick of things in decision making and the general running of the organization. STGDP is as solid as a rock, and you can take that to the bank.
As for Chris's inquiry with Kebba, in regards to having a chat with NADD leadership about the flag bearer issue, this is really an important issue that all of us need to discuss ASAP. We are all members of STGDP, and the MN group especially have been doing a hell of a job. Maybe we need to have a meeting this Saturday to draw a game plan. Thanks again for a job well done. I really enjoy meeting you in Washington.

Thanks
Musa Jeng

LETTER FROM JOE SAMBOU, MIDWEST COORDINATOR

Mose, thanks for your response to the inquiry and also thank you to Yorro for the inquiry. Yorro, as Musa stated, the STGDP is live and well and we are here to serve Gambians and we will continue to do that. As Musa stated, this was just a routine rotation as members' duties are impacted by family time, work, school etc. We are working harder than before and Kebba, Fatou, and all are still going strong with us. As a matter of fact this rotation took place before our demonstration in DC, and you saw there, Fatou, Sigga, Soffie, Musa, Jow, Banka, and myself among the many. Kebba, like Maila, Hassan, Bambalaye, Saloum and others could not make it due to other circumstances beyond their control. The strength in the STGDP lies in the fact that it is not leader centered and each has a voice, and when one is busy, you see another step in to continue the journey, until the occupied came back on their feet. If you noticed, I am less heard in the L, Post, etc., but you see Jow and others continue to carry our call and voice. We are still strong and fighting right along with you and the Gambian people. Just within the last week we sent NADD money to address the legal representation of the trio. Thanks again for your fact finding. I will call Chris or Che to update them.

LETTER FROM FATOU JAW MANNEH, EX-VP STGDP

Thanks for your concern. STGDP is intact. Yes i have resigned just my post and title but am continuing my work with the STGDP, actually am trying this week to get senegal on Nadds side, trying to talk to mandela, and also waiting for Jesse jackson to be back in town to record a message for our radio program. I already met him twice, and if possible we are trying to drag him to the Gambia come elections.(confidential)

WE have executive meetings every saturday for long hours, and i have picked up a new job and work most saturdays and i thought it would be appropriate to resign rather than not be very effective as VP, but then after i sent the message that i have resigned, it caused a serious misunderstanding as it concides with Kebba's resignation too. i respect his decision. So the coincidence created a huge misunderstanding.I was actually shocked because i think we can easily vote for the next guy in because we are now very close buddies.

I would have let you know if there are any proplems. Actually i did not reply to your interview questions because i wanted to give chance to sigga, chris and soffie. I have send them the message on the website already. I wanted to serialize the STGDP women. compile it then send it to you guys. That was the delay. Believe me i will never leave STGDP even after Jammeh and no hard feelings at all.Why not you register with our discussion forums to keep you abreast of our efforts. We can cannot jump ship at this hour.

Fatou
