CAF Grants Gambia Tournament Request By Modou Nyang
Gambia has been entered for the CAF African Nations Championship after the GFA protested for the country’s exclusion. Last week CAF released a list of countries that were to take part in the first edition of the new tournament that will only feature home based players without the Gambia. And the Gambia Football Association reacted by writing to the continental football governing body querying for the action. Other countries like Ghana also did the same prompting a swift revision of the decision. Ten countries alongside Gambia have now been included to take part in the competition that will be staged in Ivory Coast next year. CAF has now ordered for the amendment of the fixture to include the new countries. The tournament is preceded by a qualifying series.
