At the moment it is difficult to sympathize with the USA.

You are so correct. Especially after 9/11 many sympathize with yankees. However yankees abuse it. No?

I do not think USA needs anyone's sympathy

Typical. Arrogance. It is a bully mentality. Kayjatta, is that your ideal that you base the yankees' action based on power not righteousness?

Anyway, let me clarify. This is not a iraqi problem. That is an american problem created by yankeestan invasion.

diaspora! Too many Chiefs and Very Few Indians.

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices.

POLITICALLY? What the hell does a bunch of mercenaries have to do with politics, except of the fact that politicians hired them? BTW the US government, stupid as they are, humiliated the Iraqis and their government once again by allowing Blackwater to go on working in Iraq. I fear they still don't understand much of the Arabian/Iraqi mentality. These are proud people, and one should be careful to provoke them too much.

Kayjatta, I don't know if in the USA they put Prozac into the drinking water, but it seems as if many (not all!!) Americans still don't realize what is going on in Iraq, and why meanwhile at least half of the world hates the USA.

One of my sister's closest friends is an Iraqi who came to Germany as a refugee during Saddam Hussein's era. He says that even in his creepiest nightmares he would never have imagined what is now every day reality in Iraq. What he saw there on an extended visit, and what his family and friends in Iraq tell him changed his opinion about the USA radically (of course he didn't turn into a terrorist).

Did you know that many Iraqis believe that a lot of terroristic acts are done by Americans (CIA or mercenaries, who cares) themselves to give them an excuse to stay in the country? This could even make sense if you regard how much money US companies make in Iraq. Ill-gotten money, dirty money, stained with the blood of thousands of innocent people - men, women, children.

I am strictly against terrorism, I hate and abstain from any kind of violence. But sometimes I can understand the rage of mistreated and deeply humiliated people like the Iraqis.

Serenata...I think you have very valid points...

You are so right. First of all, most american channels are very bias namely fox, cnn. So there is no public pressure as we see in europe because americans basically are not informed about the truth. Europeans have better access to the news and truth. Other thing is yankees very close society. I mean while most europeans are travelling to africa, middleeast, far east for vacation, avarage american traveller prefer disneyland!!! or europe, caribbean or mexico. According to national geographic magazine, I think it was 4-5 years ago. There was a survey about geographical knowledge with the questions like where is iraq? Yankees were the last in western nations. In USA, while very little percent of population are intellectual and superb. But most of yankees not as intellectual. I am not sure what is the reason. Pop culture? too much consumerism? So it is much easier to manipulate yankees unlike europeans.

diaspora! Too many Chiefs and Very Few Indians.
