you are right about Ghana or Xhana, which means my friend. but the real origin of Soninke are far more than that,
they're from Egypt and that for some 100s yrs BC.

You are right Mbay at least from what i have learnt.

Story has it that the people of manding were descendants of one of the lost tribes of Judae who moved west during Exodus in Egypt. The Sarahule are a breed of this tribe with the Berbers in the north. That is why the word Soninke is interchangeable with mandinka and sarahule because both tribes have similar origins. I will give you the name of the origianl tribe as i left my note pad under the mango tree by the health center.

they are Nubian Family from a Aswan descendants very closed to Levant family.
It was even before the Exodus 2200 B.C. their King called Piy that first conquer ancient Egypt in about 25th dynasty.
the first families headed forthward Ghana was about as early as 7000 B.C or less than that, and the Dingha was the first family that have moves to Kumbi Saleh.

kay we will do some thing about you? you need a decent domoda. but don't worry help is on the way. where is alpha kondo? the jatta muta jatta's. i doubt that very much. or may be not a hungry jaah taah. .our serere historian tamsier should tell us more about the movements of the serere and what names are more linked with serere. i have a friend with the names jaw. he speaks serere. is jaw a typical serere tamsier? as for you kay, you are manden. since you listen to music i suppose get some salifu keiter on Mandinkalu or old sori kandia ,mandinkalu nbalima .that track went in great lengt about who the mandens are. that is just a rehearshal. also try to lay your hand on the mandingo kingdoms of senegambia. i bought mine from canada for twenty dollar including postage. but in here we will do a casual naration. just comfirm your surname which i believe is jatta.
