Sister Ogema, I am totally disappointed with your recent posting. Let me tell the you blank fact, that is even Yahya Jammeh knows that the students were gunned down by the security forces through hiM or his security chief's command. The President got the information from the then NIA Director (deceased) who told the President that students were demonstrating and were backed by the oppositions.
I have been defending Jammeh's regime here, but for this matter I differ from your point. It is very disheartening for a responsible person to come over this forum entertaining the massacres of our youths. Every effort should be make to silence your these nonesense utterances. All what Gambians want are peace, repentance for the wrongs, and "Truth and reconciliation" so as to turn Gambia a modern democractic state where freedom prevails without living in fear.
IF SISTER OMEGA'S SON WAS GUN DOWN THESE REMARKS WILL NEVER COME OUT FROM HER STINKY BIBS. AS MY TEACHER USED TO SAY "YOU ARE BECOMING MORE UNBECOMING".

Ebra,
All what we know is that the students demonstrated, there was shooting from and towards the students. This fact must be investigated. The country could set up an independant mission, with both opposition, government officials, private persons and journalists to find facts withn the country so as to inform people what realy happened. Hence most of us here can give suggestions to people back at home. This applies to all parties. I am sory but cannot take for gtanted that it was the soldiers that shot. Who were the people amongst the students that fired at the soldiers? Remember, there are too much of illigal firearms circulating in your country whilst you blame the government. They are not the only ones with guns and bullets. Ordinary citizins do have too. I have a private pistol without licence at home in the Gambia for my own protection when I am there. I bought the pistol from a private person. I am sorry , but if fact are not brought forward, we must stop acusations. I am a Gambian and not a voter but wants the truth. I do not buy most of the rumors or gossips from home. I am sorry, but I cannot buy the story without the proper facts laid down.
How did you know that it was the former NIA boss who informed Jammeh?
The person who informed you about this could spill the beans.

Anyone who tries to scale down the seriousness of how these young students got murdered has a mind somewhere near that of brutal murderers. You talk about facts finding in situations where the facts were not laid bare. People writing on this subject are living witnesses to the brutal killings. It was also after the killings that the ruthless president declared an open amnesty for the killers in the name of indemnity. He's gone as far promoting the nasty killers as if it was slaughter of lambs to feed the vampire military. This is a sensitive matter to be taken for ordinary cyber debate. Those of you who bend on blaming the dead (may their souls rest in peace) you have exposed your very insensitive sentiments in the most distasteful extreme. You have killers' hearts, period. If it was one of your family, this was not the reaction. To you good compatriots, do not bother about those who now proved themselves as being capable of drinking human blood like the vampires they defend over the net. Time will tell. To the maimed sorry it happened this way. To the bereaved and devastated families, take solace in the creator Almighty. To the rest let us care even if a member of our family was not killed on the 10-11 April 2000 by a president who is still paid by the sweat of deceased's parents.

karamba and dalton ,your summaries make sense .as for omega ,i will only correct the statement you made about me .i did wrote a thread about my '' friend the green boy '' .i am very sure that you know who the green boys are . so if some one confess to my wife that he was a member of the green boy and i know what role they play in the geo-political make-up of the gambia ,i will send him parking without any regret .
my owm mother support the beast (yahya) but i don't hate her for that .neither do i hate any aprc supporters but i will not have any one of them who patake in harrassing innocent gambians as a friend period. be it my brother ,uncle or sister or even an outsider .so bang on about my intolerance omega if you wish .

Salimina if the students were caught in crossfire of insurgence don't you think that the children's families have the right to know what events actually lead up to their childrens' untimely death.

Dalton where did I mention Essa Bokar Sey? It seems you are becoming paranoid haven't we debated on this issue countless times previously when you caterogically stated that you are not he even though you both use the name Gainako and Yero what the heck these are common Fula names including Jallow and you are boths poets with the same writing style, and both of you live in the US these are purely coinicidence aren't they? I suppose there are plenty of Fula's who have the same profile.

As for being in partnership with him whatever gave you that idea and having a family together that's a joke. My dear as grey hair spares very few people once they enter their mid thirties and forties without resulting to hair dye, surely the last thing on my mind is to continue childbearing I pass that mantle on to the next generation of my family. Grand Parenthood is a progression of chidbearing and I've already past that threshold.

It seems you've missed your vocation Dalton you should really consider being a stand up comedian your talent knows no bounds.

Have a good day

Peace

Santafara, I am glad to hear you have respect for your mother for she bore you in this world, and I am sure you would never turn her out of your house. That's reassuring to know. So maybe you do have an ounce of tolerance running through your veins after all.

Ebra, be careful what you wish for others because those wishes may bounce back on you.

Any family who has lost a child wants to know why their loved one was taken from them, and will not have a peace of mind until they are given a full explanation. No one gets over a lose of a child they just learn to live with the emptiness in their lives.

Therefore it is important that every stone is unturned to answer questions no matter who it offends to piece together the events that lead up to the crime. Without this information these families tragedy is continually being used as a political football match to score cheap political points. These families and those survivors need a proper explanation of the events which took place without hinderenous of taboos.
