I am neither being harsh on you nor ignoring the sense in your piece, but i am trying to rectify your misnomered inheritance. If 100%, you are telling me that you believed students fired bullets, then i am left fainting Omega.
The VP's (Isatou Nie saidy) first uttered that the Gambia security forces used rubber bullets. How come there were casualities?
Like i said, you are better accepting the truth in this matter.

I have first hand information from those in the field from different eyewitness accounts who witnessed Churchill fire service being raised to the ground Serekunda police station and others set a blaze and looting of shops in westfield. no just imagine the mayhem as reporters were encouraging the youth to run a mock on Gambian streets. Why do you think that so many in the opposition fled Gambia when the coup attempt failed to seek political asylum? (Not only because of those events but using it as a loophole to go to the west.)
Paramilitary officers were witnessed having their guns taken off them it is when the Security forces opened fire after the police were overcome, and you expect us to believe that the army should of stayed in their barracks doing nothing. You mentioned the use of rubber bullets not live ammunition, the mere mention of rubber bullets indicts the intention by the Security Forces was to maim and not kill. How can you possibly continue to paint an illusion of a rosey picture of completely peaceful protest when you know that is fabrication of the events which occurred on 10th and 11th Apirl.
No doubt there were genuine students who peacefully participated in protests initially, but insurgence decided to expliot the situation by mingling with the crowd in plain clothes using students as scapegoats. Also it is no big secret that mercenaries were hired by factions within the opposition to overthrow the APRC openly trying to commandeer support abroad.
So Dalton keep it real and stop lying to the people on the internet. Even the western politicians have seen through opposition lies. Even Jawara decided to accept the amnesty granted after the 2001 elections, and those fallen politicians bleeting in the west have been caught with their hands in the cookie jar and have run to the US seeking assylum and courting the opposition and screwing up the NADD coalition with their contankerousness. Even when so called journalist whip up ill feeling at the run up of the last election trying to distabilse the Gambia giving written ammunition with fire laden words to insight violence on the ground through 2006 attempted coup. Start cooing a different lyllabye when some half bake plan goes scew wiff start singing another tune.
It's ironic how they go silent when someone acts on their negative words going undercover then can't resist to come up again thinking no one hasn't noticed. I am sure you get my drift.

I doubt the above also. At least not to my knowledge. Tell us more about it. And i repeat that the students acted alone on april 10th and 11th, though many sympathisers joined the mob in the process, but that it won't be honest to link it to the Gambian opposition. Those mps that were arrested were soon released, and it was their support of justice that led to their arrest.

Yes, lets say what ever we want to say.But as i have told you it has to come with responsibility.Topics differ.You might be a black origin but we have different cultures.Those who were maimed are still around and those who lost their kids reads this forum everyday.Does it make sense to tell the victims relatives that their kids demise has been caused by themselves?Please sister we can discuss anything but this topic is so sensitive to point a blaming finger on the victims.If you can accept me( including Dalton) lets stop judging in such a sensitive topic.Time will solve the puzzle. |
