Integrated topic Darfur War without End under http://www.gambia.dk/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3589 to learn from BAD PRECEDENTS AND TRAGEDIES.

Take note brothers and sisters (FOR THE GAMBIA OUR HOMELAND!) these statements extracted from above link as QUOTES:

"Mr Izadein recounts how the two men - one Arab, one Fur - have become unlikely allies against the Sudanese government.

Mr Rokero, a Fur, is a general in the Sudan Liberation Army (SLA). Mr Izadein, an Arab from the Talba tribe in the Kass region of south Darfur, was a janjaweed fighter, attacking villages in SLA territory. "Now, this man is my brother," Mr Izadein says, reaching out an arm towards Mr Rokero"

When creatures like Jammeh want us to accept that development stops at their wrong footsteps, that is a failure of justice and total absence of sanity. For us to move, the wheel that brings both wise and fools to power must roll on. To have it stop because someone or group of people choose to have us stop moving is wrong. We have to have them brushed and flushed for purpose of progress.

I couldn`t believed if i heard people comparing jawaras appointments with that of jammeh.Atleast in jawaras government the tribal line is very thin.It was fairly mix and its representative of the population.Jawara did not isolate jolas, indeed there wasn`t enough capability. The few we know like Kamma badjie, dembo badjie where in a decent position.Even Famara jatta got his share as well.

But in jammehs government, all security aparatus are under the leadership of his tribe(only NIA and immigration) though they represent only 10%( if am right) of the population. And dont forget the deputies of NiA and immigration are his tribe.Very soon, in not so distance future the two exceptions will be jolanized. So comparing jawaras tribal leanings with that of jammeh is madness i belief.

Jawara like jammeh are not my cuppa but accusing him(jawara) of being tribalist is harsh.

Known by other people or not, Jammeh has some regrets in life. His current moves are dictated by inner guilt and personal regrets.

Bro Karamba, do you have any proof to substantiate on your allegations against president Jammeh and his business activities. Lets try to balance things fairly without impartiality. Through President Jammeh, Gambia have acheived so many developments, so we need to be objective in whatever we say. If one looks only the negative side, you will never recognize the postive side, which is totally baisness.

Ebra,

When Baba Jobe was sent to jail, it was president Jammeh himself who told the Gambian nation that the business Baba mismanaged (Youth Enterprise) belongs to him (Jammeh.) If you don't believe in what Jammeh claimed, I suggest you direct the question to him and please kindly share your results with us. Do you also know as president, Jammeh is entitled to a limited income. For him to amass the amount of money and material wealth in a short span of time is adequate proof of him tapping extra-revenue sources. He is therefore not only brutal but filthy corrupt. The rest, I leave out to others who know better than the little I can think of.

I found this forum very interesting and educative. In line to the above topic, as mansasulu has just stated about some of us been short sighted memories. The Jolas were offered the lowest paid jobs. At the time of Jawara, the best office job for a jola is either a cleaner, messenger or door security. Those talking today should remember the reason why Allah mandated all muslims to fast inorder to feel the pain or hunger the poor and needy go through. They didn't realised it that time and the jolas as been one of the most hard working people in the Gambia. Can some deny that because nearly every office who dressed smart should know that his or her dress was ironed by either a jola maid or sereh and when you get home , the best meal you either was cooked by your maid who again could be either a jola or sereh. Lets be realistic and forget about tribalism in the Gambia. The Gambia is one family and if we want to countinue with this, we may end of hurting each other because it's now hard to see a whole family in the Gambia which is not mix.Let us try and find ways of coming together and get ready for the next election if we are really interested of a change. My wife is amandinka but sorry if I offen anyone which I don't me to do but please also rmemeber am human and not perfact. I found some mandinkas been the most tribalist among many because they look low upon other tribes eg "fullanding"(small fula). All my flats mate in the Uk are mandinkas but I always have this problem with them of saying offencive words towards jolas and they fail to remember they are citizens of the Gambia and deserv better.Jammeh is just one individual and don't blam the jolas for jammehs problem. His problem is a national problem which we need to try and find a solution than having ill feeling to others. We as Gambian citizens should take responsible because is the Gambians who voted him into office.

Two wrongs never make a right. There were tribal games played during Jawara's days and the same game is being played today. That narrow minded way of reasoning is what sets us back yesterday and it continuous to hold us back today.

The indesputable fact is that Gambian in general is a backward nation that deserves better. Our children and grand children deserve to inherit a better system of government. Only those who are ignorant of social bianess thinks that they can benefit from suppressing others.

What goes round comes round, and this is why we have been going in circles over and over again without making headway. So no more excuse for what Jawara, Jammeh or John did, doing or is going to do period.
