Thanks for sending in the ammended version.

The Constitution clearly states 68.

(1) The President shall receive such salary and allowances as
may be prescribed by an Act of the National assembly, and
such salary and allowances shall not be altered to his or her
disadvantage during his or her tenure of office.

(2) The President shall be entitled to such pension and
retirement benefits as may be prescribed by an Act of the
National assembly and such pension and other benefits
shall not be altered to his or her disadvantage after he or
she has relinquished office:
Provided that no such pension or other retirement benefits
shall be granted to a President who ceases to hold office in
accordance with section 67.

(3) The salary and allowances, and pension and retirement
benefits, as prescribed by an Act of the National Assembly, shall be exempted from taxation, but the President shall be subject to taxation on all other chargeable income.Provided that the President may undertake and carry on any agricultural business including farming, horticulture, livestock rearing and artisanal fishing;

Now karamba show us proof of where and how Jammeh has gone against the constitution?

Siter O, this is always the case when it come to Jammeh and his opponents. They come up with wild accusations and can never subtanciate it. I have always said that if Jammeh is guilty of all this he is accused of, we should only sit and wait for judgement. Because nobody can be responsible for all those attrocities and get away with it. If Jammeh was the monster he is painted to be, we would have known and would not have voted him back to office less than a year ago. The man needs a break to continue his nation building for atleast the next five years mandated to him by the Gambian people.

It is the mark of intelligence to entertain an idea without accepting it.

There is a clear difference between a president who encourages agricultural ventures as opposed to one who goes for the Get-Rich-Quick track to private wealth. Jammeh's is the latter. He said to whole Gambian population over national TV that his wealth will transcend to generations and up to next world. Which sane president in the world ever made such irresponsible remarks? Jammeh is all out for his pocket; ready to kill (armed robber), ready to terrorise (state of terror), and ready to deceive (master craftsman.) You expect normal people to keep silent over that!! No, no.

So what are you implying? Are you saying that the people who voted for Jammeh or those who voted for him by default are not normal?

As for your allegations that Jammeh is a robber. That is soley subjective on your part. Where is the evidence bring proof?

Karamba, why border with people who are always ready to fool the Gambian people for their own selfish interest? We Gambians do not have a Gun culture like Jamaica where people are killed everyday and nobody is bordered. We cannot support a killer no matter what type of development he brings to a nation. Full stop!

Jammeh came to power by force as a poor soldier 12 years ago and now he claims that his next generation will never be poor again on national TV.

Where did he get that kind of money?

Jangjang,

that is too generalized/too broad. may be can be narrowed to the few infected with the gun disease. Jamaicans are africans who promote africanism. With the herb, we are calm and peaceful.

Though, as always, i disagree with Omega's stance on Gambia's political issues (in a larger percentage.)

Evidence! Evidence! Evidence!

Sister Omega, if you are not still convinced that Jammeh killed Finance Minister Koro Ceesay, Student demonstrators, Deyda Hydara, and many others, that is the beauty of your free opinion. The same Jammeh is growing from Rags to Riches and you still have no eyes to see that. Blessed are you for not believing and yet you see. Elections! Elections! Elections! Forget about those dead elections. It is all robbery of the highest form and style. Sad, sad, sorry.

Hi Dalton,

Please this document on violence in Jamaica and judge for yourself.

http://www.undp.org/rblac/gender/jamaicabigfile.pdf

We dont Gambia to be like that!

Sometime people can shout African unity, Emancipation of Africa, etc to sell their music not in thier hearts. It is another form of exploitation. Just associate with some of these caribeans and see for yourself whether they want anything to do with Africa.

Jangjang you were saying that Jamaica's don't recognise their African Roots. And by the way today many from the African Diaspora community including myself and family were down at Tower Hill to visit or to see the replica of "Zong" the slave ship which throw away 133 Africans into the Thames for insurance purposes. There are Africans still in mental slavery both inside and outside of Africa. Spouting negativity who lack a positive image of themselves and members of their race.

By the way Jangjang you forgot to mention that Jamaica elected its first woman Prime Minister on 30/3/06 Portia Simpson-Miller. Portia Simpson-Miller was elected as the new leader of the governing PNP and succeeded P. J. Patterson.

Here is a link to some of Jamaica's National Heroes who laid down their lives in service of liberating the African Race.
