Wow, am very intrigue by your will to discredit Jammeh. Let me tell you that we need people like you to help run our country. So please turn your probably rightly negative views about the man and come up with ideas that can help reconstruct what he has so called destroyed. Remember Jawara was also voted in many times to deliver to the Gambians, however all he managed to do was employed a bunch of thugs, take big loans, drive flashy cars, splash mud on us and at the end ask us to pay. That was not delivery brother man. I insist on this comparison because thats what we know. Any other presi that comes after Jammeh must do more than Jammeh in order to rival him in comparison. |
It is the mark of intelligence to entertain an idea without accepting it. |

Bread Man,
It is not me that is out to discredit Jammeh. He already plugged sufficient wild feathers and the world is there to see. Lot of things Jammeh said could not pass the test of time. The most recent being his cure claim. Supposed there was no word about Jammeh on Bantaba, he is already loaded around the globe. This is not just opinion. It is the undeniable truth. Some of your likes are in for serious disappointment. You don't know how Jammeh fares on when others lay sleep. If over Bantaba everyone stops making mention of Jammeh for a month, there will still be more about Jammeh in other outlets. It is no secret why Jammeh's promos capture front pages in his darling press outlets. My good fellow, man cannot survive on bread alone.
You got me outrightly wrong by the attributes of negative disposition you assume of me. I am not negative. I am quite positive and realistic. I do not hate Jammeh as person. He's got to be real. This game is not fulfilling. One day you and your likes will bite ten fingers for regrets. Mark this. We have to be fair. It is abnormally abnormal that one person keeps on failing and still insists he is the best. This is sad for our country. Sad, sad, truly sad. |

It is better to try and fail then not to try at all. As no human being is infallible Jammeh has accomplished more than most. Karamba it is easier to critise but what contributions have you made to the Gambia lately? Breadman a lot of the critics of Jammeh have their own personal axes to grind many have had their own political careers cut short or have been casualities of the shake up of the APRC reorientation policies, falling from family positions of power under the PPP administration. Or have been sacked by the APRC for one reason or another. Many critics of the APRC who have returned home after some years want to be apart of Gambia's development, and want to be apart of its progress. Jammeh has not only spoken about development but has put it into practice that is why Jammeh is in his third term of office.

Sister Omega,
It is not exactly right that all those who disagree with Jammeh have fallen out of grace with his regime or belonged to the good days of Jawara. You will be surprised how many genuine Gambians there are who are not tickled by emotional bites. We have to face the situation with realistic comportment. It appears that you on your part stand so solid that even if you see wrong you stand by it. That is the type of politics Jammeh contaminated many others. Jammeh is simply playing around for 13 years seeking for an image that is not coming his way. He needs to have a life. Your expression of distasteful views about others does not turn them to devils one may wish of them. Because Jammeh insists on staying where he so much cherishes, he is out for a real challenge. Never mind he is sheletered in the thickest crocodile skin and never sensitive to plight of Gambians, he will be told what is right. You can speculate and continue assuming that all Jammeh critics are recycled or disgraced come-backs and renagades. That is part of divergence in perception and you have all power to stick by your views. Good lady, carry on. |

POLITICS VARIES and we all have different views and opinions about POLITICS, DEMOCRACY, AUTHORITARIAN, DICTATORSHIP AND PUBLIC ACCOUNTABILITY.
Here under these scenarios we have critical HARSH SITUATIONS in guise of POLITICS. What went wrong? Who is RESPONSIBLE? HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUES, VICTIMS etc are questions that are dealt through POLITICS.

| Thanks sister O for the timely intervention. I think this forum is a real demonstration of democracy. For Karamba, I say you are one of a kind in sticking to your views even when most of it does not represent Jammeh. However, I think your views are conveyed in such a mature way that it warrants more debate. Jammeh remains a model in Gambian developement though |

Karamba it's not exactly wrong either that critics have indeed fallen fool of the APRC government. Then what the heck people have a right to their political point of view. So accept that you and I have divergent views but nevertheless we can still debate issues. I for one think that the media needs to be free to participate in Public Education for progressing the country. At present it is under utilised as the fourth Estate. Gambia could take a leaf out of India's book by using the media to educate the masses to assist its sustainable development. GRTs needs to be more imaginative in its entertainment and education programming. There also needs to be more publishing outlets for a variety of magazines as well as multimedia products.

Sister Omega,
No harms in disagreeing when it serves the purpose of progress. You have this time round landed on a slippery platform; Jammeh's media empire in the name of GRTS. Assuming that you are one of the good opinion holders listened to by His Kanilai Highness Emperor Jammeh, you will do everyone great service by calling his attention over the fact of media monopoly. Gambia TV is created by Jammeh to quickly sell his colourful white elephant projects. He scored hard on good brains as well.
You keep assuming that the mention of Jammeh's multiple flaws amounts to one being a misguided critic. Again your opinion is well respected. For GRTS to serve any other purpose apart from progation of Jammeh's PR activities is a good idea you very accurately recognised. Jammeh will take no offence by you making mention of that monopoly. You would have tagged anyone else another badge of dishonour if the word came from others outside the Jammeh circle. You deserve to be thanked for your brave revelation on such matter of national concern. Well done. |
