If Jammeh was genuine, he would not have chosen to take arms to rob a whole democratic government order. That was wrong and cannot be brushed under carpet. Developments, developments, developments. That is Jammeh's trick of fooling Gambians. The trick is well known to mention. That is all the reason why many prefer to keep mute over it. Do not get deceived. I respect you too much to let you fall victim of Jammeh's tricks. You are good man, Bread Man. Please stay away from being deceived.

Karamba,
Being a good man is what´s driving me towards the truth of Jammeh´s will to improve our standard of living in The gambia. I am not decieved by anybody but the facts on the ground that is so clear that only people who chose to be decieved will refuse to see and acknowledge it. Believe me Brother man, Jammeh is doing well on so many things and yes he has flaws but don´t we all?? Sometimes the army has to act to save a nation from sinking into deeper waters. Jammeh came at the right time and more than 90% of the Gambia welcomed the change at the time. Remember the Brikama water demonstration on June 30th when people were arrested, tortured and thown in jails in Yundum and Bundung stations and was later arrained in a makeshift court under a mango tree in Yundum police barracks??? The resistance agasinst Jawara started then and who knows what would have happened after that. So Jammeh was very welcomed then even if people can easily forget the overwhelming neccessity then.

It is the mark of intelligence to entertain an idea without accepting it.

Bread Man,

You seem to confuse many things that don't belong together. It was not Jammeh's business to step in with his heavy boots and gun butts. If he was sincere, he would have started his political party and queued up like Sheriff Dibba, Cheyassin Secka, Assan Musa Camara just naming a few. No amount of WHITE ELEPHANT projects is enough to score on the clear conscience of unshaken Gambians. Above all Jammeh's interest in becoming the nation's richest man is unbecoming. Let's face it. Again, Jammeh could have borrowed money from the financial institutions and set up a business like Mbye Njie & Sons, Musa Njie & Sons, Sankung Sillah & Sons, Momodou Musa Njie & Sons to name a few. Also, Jammeh could have travelled abroad and sweat under the icy weather to squeeze the needed money income. He bypassed all such avenues and seized power by guns and now continues to seize collective economic resources by GREED. Shortly before Jammeh came to power, Bishop Michael Cleary stated: "There is enough for everyone's NEEDS but not enough for everyone's GREED." Up to this day and time, such statement is applicable to the Jammeh era. Bread Man, clear the thick dust from your sight and admit. You keep bringing in the Jawara bit. Jawara is gone and has no hands in what Jammeh and his lot are stealing and killing. Face it.

Well Karamba
First of all, all the veteran politicians you mentioned have tried for decades without success. Cheyassin gave up politics before being thrown in jail by Jawara. So that didn´t work. Now, am not saying Jammeh is an angel but asking me not to make comparison between the only two we know about is not fair. So again I will say "in comparison to Jawara, Jammeh is an angel". And again I admit that he has flaws but that shuold not overshaddow his good will and efforts for the Gambia. Have you ever driven a vehicle from Brikama to Banjul in the early 90s? Am sure the answer is yes. Compare that with driving the same road today.

Bread Man,

I am highly impressed by your pursuit of reason. It becomes much easier arriving at the home of truth in this journey with you. About the road conditions, both Jawara and Jammeh could not claim making those roads with donation from their deep pockets. These are people clothed, housed, and fed from tax payer funds. To be honest with Gambians and lifting funds for road works and other essential infrastructure development is the least obligation from them. When they take any part of the state resources to beef up private assets that is when they become dishonest. Jammeh has a fixed salary and so did Jawara. It was not proper that Jawara gave out money to others without it coming from his salary. Jammeh too could not lavishly dish out money without being questioned for the source. He is no magician to turn green leaves into bank notes. Something is seriously wrong with Jammeh's overall conduct.

I like the bit on Cheyassin when you observed that he gave up when he could not win votes to become president. What stopped Jammeh from forming a clean civilised political party like Halifa, Sidia, Cheyassan, and lot others. If you Bread Man choose starting a party today, let me know if your plans are feasible. My vote goes to you because you decide on a true democratic passage. For a man like Jammeh to jump that long queue and set himself as he did, this is something many Gambians could not house. You still think we have to ignor Jammeh's passage to power and allow him to misrule us ? Think again dear country man. Just because he flags up white elephant projects is no good reason. He's got to get out of it at all, be gentle, form a party, and bid for power like other decent Gambians. Without that he is wrong and longivity on that seat does not correct that wrong. No jokes.

Karamba,
What is the APRC, Not a party? Of cos it´s a political party. Jammeh has fulfilled all those democratic criterias and was elected into office twice, remember? If you question his conduct as a president, I think you are within the genuine democratic norms to do that, but his road to president Jammeh from Captain/Colonel Jammeh was democratically paved in a democratic manner. Well yes the coup was illegal, but sometimes it takes a form of destruction to have some form of construction.
About building the infrastructure, he could have done as before, always come up with a five year developement program on paper and we never see anything. Defending the rule of law was Jawara´s so called legacy which was good, but people do not live on that and it only applied to the ppp. Jammeh might be a contrast to that as you said but he is delivering.

Bread Man,

To deliver is what Jammeh is obliged doing. Because he staged a coup, the only way he is able to show off is by creating the white elephants. APRC being called a POLITICAL PARTY causes headache to think about. APRC is a military group and not a genuine political party. Evidently, none of the letters, not even the 'P' symbolises PARTY. You may not know but those who coiled it up consciously decided it is not a political party. Another evidence is that Jammeh kept saying that he is not a politician. Do you now want to contradict Jammeh on his very words? Say it loud then so that it is clear if you are Jammeh's proper body. By staging a coup, Jammeh said he had no intention of staying in power. That was why they called their group ARMED FORCES PROVISIONAL RULING COUNCIL-afprc. Later the 'F' word was deleted and it remains to be called APRC. Going by that, APRC is no genuine political party. It was when Jammeh tasted the sweet nectar of corruption that he decided to stick his nose on the beehive. Bread Man, APRC is no genuine political party and Jammeh's coup cannot be justified. To destroy and RECONSTRUCT like King Kong !! That is scary.

Wow, am very intrigue by your will to discredit Jammeh. Let me tell you that we need people like you to help run our country. So please turn your probably rightly negative views about the man and come up with ideas that can help reconstruct what he has so called destroyed.
Remember Jawara was also voted in many times to deliver to the Gambians, however all he managed to do was employed a bunch of thugs, take big loans, drive flashy cars, splash mud on us and at the end ask us to pay. That was not delivery brother man. I insist on this comparison because thats what we know. Any other presi that comes after Jammeh must do more than Jammeh in order to rival him in comparison.
