We can only learn if he is patient with us and translates!
I LOVE to see Mandinka and Wolof etc written and hear it spoken. I just wish I could find it easier to learn! Then I could understand my mans phone conversations!!!! LOL! AND I might know where he is going!!!

Seriously though, if you post in an African language that is your right to do so. All I ask is that you translate for us that are rubbish at languages! THANKS!!

I understand your stand but i dont think Alhassan should tell me to use an African alphabeth if i want to quote Youssou Ndour.Thats gone too far. I have seen others post here in Dutch etc. I always translate my quotations.

If i did not on this one, is no excuse to come after me like a wounded lion.

I think the election fever is already on memebers. But i am not the culprit. Like the mandinka say: NI YEH SISEWO JEH JIBI LAL NOMA, TOOR LAL LEH FILTAMA.( If you see the chickens following the water collectors, its because they could not find the grain millers.

Why Iam I a wonded lion? The topic we disscuss here is about usage of language. Sometimes some of you do not seem to understand. Just because Gambians are on the Bantaba does not mean that they are the only ones to discuss here.

The more languages are used the less likely they are to be lost. Give me some more Pulaar, wolof, Mandinka, Aku, Serehaule, Serra. Jola, Manjaku etc with translations in English, French, Spanish, Swedish, German etc We will have a global lingua Jammin session going on a bit like being on London Transport with fewer languages competing to be heard.
