Hello Inez! Korr tanna te je! Just wondering if the ecolodge was owned and run by Gambians? It sounds like a nice concept. I had friends on the north side of Gunjur many years ago.
The ecolodge is called footsteps. It is a beautiful paradise run by english people. The huts all have their own bathroom. The toilets are composting toilets and they are trying to develop a toilet suitable for in the compound as this will help improve villages water supplies. They use solar power and energy saving light bulbs. I loved the place. The food there is excellent, especially for vegetarians. I had a 'proper' veggie meal. Breakfast was excellent too. A perfect place to relax. The price is £20 per person per night B &B. Expensive for Gambia, but worth it as a treat. I took my boyfriend and my guide and his wife. We had a good relaxed evening after all the excitement of tobaski.
