Kiwi01 here's an interesting link to answer your question about the Baobab tree this tree was transported from West Africa in 1738 to Barbados in The Caribbean. It is is over 250 years old.http://www.barbados.org/baobab.htm The Baobab can survive up to an amazing 6000 years.
http://www.senegal-online.com/anglais/parcs-faune-flore/baobab.htm There are species of the tree in Austrialia several years ago I saw a documentary where Black Austrialians noted that the Baobab was brought to Austrialia by Africans.

10 years ago,I wrote a poem called:

BAOBAB TREE

If the Baobab could talk to you,
What would it say?
If the Baobab tree could talk to you
What would it say?

Answer:
Shoosh shoosh
Shoosh shoosh

I fed your ancestors,
Now carve your name on me
If you want to be free!
Kunta Kinte went to chop some wood
From a Mahogany tree
He was supposed to return home
But was never again free
If the Baobab could talk to you
What would it say?

Answer:
Shoosh Shoosh
Shoosh Shoosh
He was captured
at Juffure in Senegambia
brought to James Island,
brutalised, manacled and held as a slave.
Hearing the desperate cries of many others suffering,
Unsure of their plight.
Piled on top of one another for a fortnight.
It was only the baobab
that fed them during this time.
what would it say

If the Baobab could talk to you
what would it say?
If the Baobab could talk to you
Answer:
shoosh shoosh
shoosh shoosh
“Carve your name on me
Now that you are free!
Walk on James Island as a free human,
Liberate your ancestors,
set the captives free,
Now that you are no longer enslaved!”

If the Baobab could talk to you,
what would it say?
If he Baobab could talk to you,
what would it say?

Answer:
Shoosh Shoosh
Shoosh Shoosh
Come home to your spiritual homeland,

If the Baobab could talk to you
what would it say?
If the Baobab could talk to you
what would it say?

“Carve your name on me,
fulfill your destiny.
Carve you name on me ,
Set your ancestors free!”

Baobab, Baobab, Baobab,
Baobab, Baobab, Baobab!
