Please allow me space to express my growing flustration about Halifa Sallah lack of will to present himself as a front runner in the leadership contest.Mr Sallah I cannot understand why you seems to be taking a back seat in this process. Is it that you knew something that the rest of us dont know.Sir the reality underground is that the ovewhelming majority of the coalitions following want you to lead the alliance into the 2006 presidential polls. The masses have repose their confidence in you and am expecting nothing from you than to heed to the wishes of the masses.Mr Sallah the message you have been preaching, thank goodness seems to be finally filtering through and this is the opportunity to lead the Gambia your way or never ever.As am writing i understand from point that finally your [blue]name has been short listed along with O.J and Ousainou Darboe, i hope the selection committee would take on board the aspiration and the wishes of the majority of the alliance following. It is very important for them to consider that because the latter could backfire. Halifa Sallah has been a strong critic of the physical discipline and the monetary policies of both the then p.p.p and the present administration.Budject speech after budject speech the sere kunda parliamentarian attacks governments approach to macro- economic stability which physical discipline addresses and the monetary policies which addresses governments approach to interest rates and inflation.Mr Sallah I agree with you that the present administartion approach to physical discipline is ill conceived and unwise.Budgeting 118 million dalasis for hosting Au summit is unwise, an amount that can pave the way for all out 30% salary increment for the civil servants across the board. I remain an admirer of Mr Sallah and I want to see Sallah Administrations approach to physical discipline in our small economy.Because I know if he get the figures right what a blessing for the country and what a defeat would that do the economic crisis facing the country at the momomet.I hOPE NADD administration would uphold and maintain discipline within the economy because contrary to that would be a betrayal to the electorates. One former p.p.p bigwig said to me dont mind them they are sweet speeches but when it comes to delivery they cant implement.I want to see how Sallah administration would approach public spending and taxation because I have little confidence in oppositon these days I have just learnt that the new government in kenya has just spent whopping 7 million pounds on fleet of mercedez Benz cars within their first six months in power, that is surely not what they were preaching to the electorates of Kenya. What a betrayal.I wish the selection committee finally select you as the flag bearer and eventually president for the third republic as at only then that judgement on Hon Sallah can be concluded.
