A Well Coordinated Smear Campaign Against Darboe - Conspirators Exposed
By Bubacarr Ceesay

January 27, 2006
I want to begin by making it clear that I abhor ethnocentrism and all its agents in the strongest terms, and will never support any political party or group based on such agendas. Furthermore, I have never been a committed affiliate to any political party in the Gambia, until the birth of the coalition National Alliance for Democracy and Development (NADD). Other than NADD, I have been a keen admirer and passionate follower of the Foroyaa and Peoples Democratic Organization for Independence and Socialism (PDOIS) organizations. I have deep trust and respect for the integrity of these folks as patriotic Gambians committed to the total mental emancipation of our people. I am not a member of the United Democratic Party (UDP), and have never spoken to or met Ousainou Darboe in person. What I do know is I respect him as a leading human rights lawyer and a key political figure in the Gambia since the reign of anti-democratic AFPRC/APRC regime.

I also want to make it clear that neither Ousainou Darboe, nor Omar Jallow is my desired candidate for the standard-bearer. If I would have it my way, my ideal candidate is Hon. Halifa Sallah. I am not the type to impose my candidate on the masses against their will. Candidate stuffing is only attributable to authoritarian bigots. But endorsing a candidate is not the subject of my discussion today. This discussion is about setting records straight. We are in times that require us to speak our minds in open and straight forward manner. This is no time for gimmicks or faint hearts. This is the moment of truth, and only the truth can set us free.

The onslaught against Ousainou Darboe and the attempted implanting of Omar Jallow (OJ) as NADD flag-bearer could not have been a mere coincidence to any critical and fair minded observer. This is a well coordinated sinister campaign to ensure the maximum political ruin of Lawyer Ousainou Darboe. This is the fact and nothing but the fact. Any body tells you otherwise, is nothing but stinking liar and hypocrite! It has been proven beyond reasonable doubt that the story surrounding the alleged unanimous nomination of OJ was nothing but an ugly sham. It is only a waste of time for anybody to try to pass it as legitimate popular wish of our people.

This author has been a staunch supporter of NADD since its birth and will continue to do so within the right circumstances; besides personal financial expenditure, spent tireless nights and days, to advance the NADD agenda. Any fair minded Gambian can attest to my support and unflinching desire to ensure a NADD victory in the decisive October polls. My heart bleeds to see once united and focused NADD, being polarized by camouflaged so called independent journalists and their ethnocentric political patrons. I hope the masterminds are celebrating their success in sowing seeds of distrust among progressive Gambians. This is the worst bad dream that can ever happen to us. How selfish and inconsiderate to the suffering masses could one ever be by harboring such a vile agenda? What is taking place can be best described as disgusting and nerve-wrecking.

There is ample evidence to suggest that former STGDP chairman Kebba Foon has a clear agenda against Darboe. At a by-election fundraiser in Minnesota, I became apprehensive about his credibility as a neutral partner after he expressed bitterness about Darboe's "sole desire to lead the coalition." He also complained bitterly about why Darboe had to come to the US on a separate visit when his colleagues had already visited.

It was the same group and the "incredible sources" who attempted to create bad blood between Halifa Sallah and Ousainou Darboe, when the former chose to represent himself as a defendant in the appeal hearing case against the NADD trio. They fabricated lies that Halifa chose to represent himself because he did not trust Ousainou. That Darboe would be glad to see Halifa go to jail in order to leave the NADD platform wide open for him to lead the coalition. That when a demonstration was proposed by NADD supporters, Darboe objected by saying "who will lead the coalition if all us go to jail?" Think about that. And the "incredible sources"? Kebba Foon via Pa Nderry M'bai. The latter who called me with these allegations against Darboe, said that the former was very angry with Darboe and has vowed that they will deal with him mercilessly. Folks this is kind of back-stabbing and self-defeating partnership at our hands.

This is just the surface, God willing more will be revealed on this network and their agenda to polarize NADD, if things don't materialize their way. I would be utterly disappointed if OJ is lending his ears these so called partners. Gambians will never forgive anybody for depriving our country of needed change at a time when doom and gloom lies in the horizon.

Unless NADD "urgently" and "seriously" purge these hypocrites within them, we might as well forget about the coalition. This author will not be a partner with anybody in hypocrisy and divisive agendas. Tribalism and over zealous ethnocentrism is a pastime for barren and deceitful minds. I cherish my dignity and conscience too dearly to associate myself with such.

AllGambian.net is here to serve the interest of voiceless Gambians and will continue to do so at any cost. AllGambian.net is not in business for vile conspiracies --not even against the tyrannical Jammeh regime. We will expose whoever espouses such within our midst. We condemn tribalism and its agent messengers in the strongest terms. Our fight at AllGambian.net is about reclaiming the unity of Gambians; about seeking justice for the many injustices committed against decent peace loving Gambians as in the case of Deyda Hydara, Koro Ceesay, victims of April 10 and 11, 2000, November 11 victims; about reclaiming the dignity and respect of our people from the tyrannical regime in Banjul and nothing less. This is what we consider "bading fasa", otherwise, taking sides for ones kin.

Note to esteem readers and partners: Mr. Pa Nderry M'bai, is no longer an editor at AllGambian.net. He does not represent nor speak for AllGambian.net. His opinion is entirely his and we will defend his right to it.

..................................................................

I always knew there is a coordinated negative campaign directed at Ousainou Darbo. Panderry was relentless in his attack. Then Dr. Saine joined in the hatchet job. However reason prevails and the onslaught is seen for what it is...a crude and calculating move to discredit Ousainou Darbo.

Why can't we just give them a chance. This is a coalition and a supposed deocratic institution. They have had their say and whoever is selected must have been based on a majority decision. Such is the nature of political democracy that you do get dissapointed and frustrated at times. What makes one partner more qualified than the other when they agreed to come together as partners? Can we please look at the bigger picture here and stop undermining this initiative even before it had began! We need to learn to be positive otherwise the future will look bleaker and bleaker. In a true democracy no one have any god given right to lead a people! We must accept the decisions made by decision makers otherwise it's all gonna end in chaos

Is it the beginning of NADD's disintegration?
Please, this is the best time for us as the Gambian brotherhood to come together and fight one battle for the common good.

...Let justice guide our actions
Towards the common good,
And join our diverse peoples
To prove man's brotherhood.
We pledge our firm allegiance,
Our promise we renew;
Keep us, great God of nations,
To The Gambia ever true.

MR. OUSMAN, GOD FORGIVE IF I MAY BE NARROW MINDED IN HERE BUT ALL THAT YOU MENTIONED IN YOUR THIS VERY LONG SPEECH ( TO MY UNDERSTANDING )CONCLUDES TO THIS VERY SHORT NOTE OF YOUR`S AS IN ABOVE.NONE THAT YOU`VE SAID ( TO ME ) MADE SENCE ABOUT ,..NADD, DARBOE, HALIFA,GAMBIA OR O.J, AFTER ALL, YOU SPOKE WITH YOUR HEART TO THE END.YOU SEEM ANGRY ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE RATHER THAN THE TOPIC YOU USE TO COVER UP.PA NDERRY IS A NICE GUY AND I DON`T THINK HE`LL DO OR SAY ANY THING TO PUT GAMBIA DOWN. I`VE BEEN READING THROUGH MANY OF HIS ARTICLES AND TO ME HE SPEAKS ONLY WHAT A RIGHTFUL THINKING MIND WOULD WANT FOR OUR DEAR MOTHER GAMBIA. WHEN EVER A PREACHER PREECHES, THE EVILS AMONG MEN MIGHT THINK THAT HIS WORDS ARE DIRECTED ON THEM, BUT THAT`S JUST BECAUSE THE TRUTH ABOUT THEIR WICKED DEEDS IS ACTUALLY WHAT POINTS BACK AT THEM.NOW, MR NDERRY IS LIKE A PREACHER AND IF WHAT EVER HE PREECHES FALLS ON DARBOE OR ANY BODY ELSE,(EVEN THOUGH HE DEARLY LOVE THE NADD) THEN THE TRUTH STILL REMAINS THE SAME. DARBOE IS NOT PERFECT OR ANY ELSE OF THE NADD LEADERS, BUT WE`LL TRUELY HATE TO HAVE ANOTHER YAHYA FANGKILLING JAMMEH.
SO I THEREFORE ASK OF YOU, FORGIVE PA NDERRY, FOON, DR SAINE FOR WHAT EVER DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU ALL, ASK FOR THEIR FORGIVENESS AND ALL OF YOU GREAT LEADERS COME, COME TOGETHER AND MAKE US ALL BETTER GAMBIANS. SETTLE YOUR TROUBLES AND STOP USING NADD OR GAMBIA IN IT AS COVER UP.LET`S GIVE NADD A CHANCE TO RULE----THROUGH SUPPORTING BUT BETTER STILL POINTING OUT THEIR WEAKNESSES ( SO THAT THEY CAN CORRECT IT )THAT WE CAN ALL WIN. LONG LIVE NADD AND MAY ALLAH HELP THEM TOWARDS RIGHTS, AND BE PLEASE WITH THEM TO LEAD US INTO BETTER GAMBIA.

Born Africa...each year I visit Kwinella high school and the students in assembly sing the gambian national anthem. Each year I cry!tears of pure emotion and happiness. I LOVE the pride in the anthem, and I love those words......

I hope every Gambian will think on those words when they vote.

I just want to know who wrote the national anthemn. What a great national anthemn and who ever wrote it had a dream for the future and knows about some of the problems we are facing now. The anthemn is powerful and capable of been the national anthemn for the whole of Africa.
