Since when did Protocol Officers manage contracts. What has happened to the Financial Instructions or commonly called FI.
This allegation if true is a matter that should have been approved by the Major Tender Board. How come the Auditor General has not picked this up. Then again, the Audtor General's Office has not audited state accounts for more than ten years in a row until some opposition memebrs raised the issue in parliament. Your guess is as good as mine.
I just hope the story being alledged in the link is not true. |

You are indeed right. For 1-2 years could be acceptable for some reasons But ten yrs that’s a too long! Something has sweeps under the carpet and the answer most come out!. To Lemon Time&Santanfara. I have to be behind Alhasan, when one supported some one else, Dose it means should not criticized be by then when they make something wrong?

Seeing such cases I cannot but compare Gambia to Europe, and Gambia doesn't look bad in this comparison.
In Germany we just witnessed a VERY dubious appeal trial against Josef Ackermann, chairman of Deutsche Bank and former Mannesmann chairman of the supervisory board, and the former Mannesmann chairman, Klaus Esser. Both managed the Mannesmann take-over by Vodaphone. The charge was fraud, accepting advantage (60 mio.DM = approx. 30 mio.€ only for Esser) and others. Now this trial was finished without sentence; Ackermann and Esser had to pay only 5,9 mio.€, and that's it. The same with the CDU/Helmut Kohl corruption affair. Rich and influential people are above the law in Europe, or do you know just ONE case of corruption etc. where high ranking politicians or managers went to prison?
I think this is different in Jammeh's Gambia. Nobody, no matter what a big shot he/she may be, can be absolutely sure to get away with everything, and this is ok. Unfortunately there is still one exception, but you can work on that. |

Bro, Isatou is my classmate from Armitage. We have known eachother since primary six at Brikama School. I have said all the time that I am not a Jola or have anything to do with the Government at home. You people who do not know me can say anything you like. Those who know me know where I stand. Keep barking boys, You can't shake me.

WE are talking about D14million of tax payers money here,We dont care if you where classmate or con mate.If she miss used our D14million then she should be place at BABA JOBE'S Hotel.D14million can buy The Gambia new GENERATORS,Create lots of jobs which will stop our brothers and Sisters from sailing with banana boats to spain killing themselves .D14million can give free Education to all the primary school children and buy Drugs for the drugless hospitals around the Gambia. So dont tell us because she is your class mate in Amitage or NGKOLOKOBYE that she should be left alone. |

Alhassan, people can change, and probably nothing changes someone more than power and money.
People in power are always in the danger of losing contact with reality. For politicians this means also the every day reality of the people they claim to represent - that's why they, e.g., don't realize how much they harm them when they steal their money. Everywhere celebrities, politicians, top managers think that laws are made for ordinary people, not for them, the almighty, invincible Mr/Ms XY. It is a schizophrenic situation, because at the same time they live in constant, secret fear of losing what they have, and this increases their greed, because money is security...
Anyway, I don't mean to prejudge VP Njie-Saidy. |

| Right, kondorong, this is a democratic duty. Otherwise, and the psychodynamics of power I mentioned prove it, democracy is a contradiction in itself. |
