Britains and Americans are stepping up pressure on Germany because the German government hesitates to send more soldiers to Afghanistan's South.
I think instead of sacrificing more and more lives and exacerbating the conflict with their military presence, all NATO troops should leave Afghanistan. If in 5 years they didn't succeed in stabilizing the country, they won't be successful in the future.

isnt it ironic Serenata. 15yrs ago mobilization of the German Army would have made many people especially those you refer to nervous!!!!
but really, it has to be said. all the European nations and the US are just behaving like gansters. Last month NATO went on a killing spree in Afganistan killing scores of innocent people. today i read Dutch soldiers tortured Iraqis. what particular threat is Iraq to Holland.
the point is, what are european soldiers doing in foreign countries. maybe some find 50yrs of peace in Europe for the first time in history boring that they want to play 'cow boys & Indians' in other peoples countries.

njucks, 50 years of peace are so unusual in Europe - they must have wars, no matter if they make sense . The weapon industry can be happy: Europe and the US spent 6 times more on their military presence than for 'nation building' in Afghanistan... |

I think germany is right to say no, it is not there problem they have enough to keep them busy. Secondly who says sending in more troops is the answer, when i look back at the places USA went into they leave behind a terrible mess. |

Njucks, I remember your true words: "isnt it ironic Serenata. 15yrs ago mobilization of the German Army would have made many people especially those you refer to nervous!!!!"
Now the US are telling us: "The Germans have to learn how to kill" (see article)... Oh, thank you, gentlemen, and what do you want us to do tomorrow? Be peaceful again? Play the clown for you? |
